BMW’s DCT is an excellent transmission and is now without doubt the fastest production transmission offered by BMW, but enthusiasts who appreciate rowing their own gears still get a warm fuzzy feeling when seeing a manual transmission in a new BMW model, even if it’s already been confirmed and has been seen previously — such as the 6 speed shifter seen in this F10 M5.
There are just a few US spec F10 M5s roaming the US being driven by BMW employees or on loan as press cars. One of these was just spotted (thanks Justin) in Newport Beach in Los Angeles.

A Frozen Silver (BMW Individual Color) F10 M5 is on display at the 2012 NYIAS, from where BMW has announced the US pricing for the 2013 M5 sedan – starting at $90,695 (destination and handling included).
The preliminary options/standard equipment information for the U.S. 2013 M5 has also been posted yesterday (info here).
The 2013 M5 will begin production in July and begin deliveries in September. Order guides will be available in two weeks and ordering begins on April 23. European delivery is available on dates beginning September 1st.

As seen here, the first batch of 2012 BMW M5 models for the North American market (Canada) have completed production and are now loaded on carriers to begin their journey to owners in Canada!
Canada gets the F10 M5 before the US, with limited allocations of 2012 model year M5s available. The full Canadian 2012 M5 price list (full list) was released recently, with the starting base price set at $101,500 CAD.

A notice sent from BMWNA M Brand Manager, United States, Matt Russell to all BMW dealers gives some light on some more launch info for the F10 M5 into the US market. Some of this is new info and some were previously confirmed.
Pricing, official Dealer Bulletin, product brochures, and Ordering Guide will be released concurrent to the New York International Auto Show in the first week of April.
Start of Production will match other MY13 5 Series models. [As we posted last week from the 2012 Detroit NAIAS, the expected SOP date is late July, for September deliveries. No model year 2012.]

The German F10 M5 configurator has gone online — at BMW Germany’s website. F10 M5 intent owners and tire kickers can now see the different M5 configurations available (at least for Germany).

The F10 M5 starts at 102,700 euros in Germany (equivalent of 148,129 USD). For comparison, the last price for the E60 M5 (Sep 2010) was EUR 94,700 which means a price increase of roughly 8.5%. Applying the same increase of 8.5% to the last US price (2010 M5) of $85,700, the new BMW M5 would be priced at $93,000 for the US.
