Russia is developing quite a pattern of originating some flashy (yes, understatement) colored BMWs. In the past two years, we’ve witnessed a gold leaf wrapped X5 M and a green chrome F10 5 series originate from the country.

Someone has now decided that Monte Carlo Blue, the flashiest F10 M5 color currently available from the factory, is still not eye catching enough. Why bother fooling around with traditional metallic paint colors or the matte paint options that are all the rage these days when you can just go chrome!

Spotted in Moscow recently was this chrome Monte Carlo Blue M5. How was the look achieved? If the green chrome F10′s process is any indication, it first had a chrome wrap applied, on top of which a translucent blue … CONTINUED

Here is a first look at the Kelleners Sport aero kit and exhaust system for the F10 M5. The cosmetic parts include a carbon fiber front spoiler lip, carbon fiber mirror covers, sideskirts, black rear bumper diffuser with carbon fiber fin, and carbon fiber trunk spoiler. Black 20″ Kelleners Hamburg wheels are fitted on the car.

For performance and sound, the Kelleners Sport full exhaust system with valve control has also been fitted. The valve system has been integrated in the rear silencer and can be opened and closed automatically, depending on the RPM and speed of the car. The valve starts in the closed mode at startup, but opens up at approximately 4000 RPM. An Export version (Sound+) is also available. The quad tips are stainless … CONTINUED

Yet another M5 gone. The M5 belonging to Dutch DJ Headhunterz (featured in the drift lesson video below) was recently crashed. Despite what the drift video below might lead one to guess, the DJ was not responsible for the accident as he was traveling in the U.S. at the time. Four people were in the car when it lost control and crashed into a tree.

DJ Headhunterz posted this message to facebook: “Just received the news That crashed my car. Noone got hurt, thats what matters. Life will keep on challenging you, I’ll just deal with it.” The silver lining here is that no one was injured.

Although this crash was nowhere as severe as last month’s 300km/h M5 wreck, this M5 looks to be totaled as well. … CONTINUED

M5 and M6 owners-to-be will have to wait just a bit longer for upgraded stopping power.

We have confirmed with BMW that the M Carbon Ceramic Brake system originally set for availability beginning with the 2013 Model Year M5 and M6 (starting July production), has been delayed until sometime in calendar year 2013.

There’s no indication yet of when exactly in 2013 it will become available, and the new availability date applies not just to North America, but in all markets worldwide.

The recently concluded 2012 One Lap of America competition featured the BMW Performance Driving School Team driving the new BMW M5 entered by BMW North America.

The Monte Carlo Blue 2013 BMW M5 competed in a totally stock configuration (in showroom floor form), with the exception of high performance brake pads and high temperature brake fluid. Powering the M5 was the new twin turbo V8 S63Tu engine offering 560 horses and 500 lb. ft. of torque through a 7-speed M DCT transmission. Responsible for transferring all that power to the road was a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports mounted on optional 20
