BIMMERPOST Member and M3 owner John just took delivery of his all new 2014 X5 xDrive35i. He shares with us his lowdown on general impressions of the car, along with order and option opinions.
As of March 2014 a large selection of BMW M Performance parts will be available for all model variants of the Sports Activity Vehicle, giving the new BMW X5 an even more athletic look as it lines up at the start. Its powerful appearance can be further highlighted by means of a black decorative grid for the BMW kidney grille, a front splitter and exterior mirror caps in carbon, air ducting elements, a diffuser insert for the rear apron and side sill foils with M Performance inscription. For individual flair with a sporty touch in the cockpit, there is the BMW M Performance sports steering wheel with red central marking, gear lever with carbon surface, accelerator, brake pedal and driver footrest in high-grade steel … CONTINUED
Hamann wheels certainly have a way of fitting in well with the bigger vehicles in the BMW stable, and look right at home on the new X5.
For now, Hamann is showing off two styles of their wheels on the X5, namely the Design Edition Race “Anodized” 23 inch wheels and the “Anniversary EVO” 22 inch wheels.
But rest assured, Hamann is certain to later unveil a full range of wheels and “optik tuning” kits.

The X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid model has now been spotted undergoing testing. These may only be a couple of photos, but we already know what the F15 X5 looks like. We expect the X5 eDrive to launch sometime around early 2015.
As for specs? The X5 eDrive Concept model was unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show in September and featured:
• Four cylinder turbocharged engine (approximately 171 horsepower)
• Paired with electric motor (provides 95 horsepower)
• Up to 70 MPH (120km/h) on electric power alone
• Maximum range of 19 miles (30km) on electric power alone
• 0-62 MPH (100 km/h) in under 7 seconds
• Average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 3.8 litres per 100 kilometres (74.3 mpg imp).
