Looking for some great Friday afternoon or weekend reading? Follow along with F30POST member DrivenByE30 as he recounts his 17 day European Delivery ‘honyemoon’ with his F30 335i 3 series, in our most epic euro delivery journal yet. Hope your internet connection can handle this!
DrivenByE30′s F30 that he picked up was a 2012 335i Imperial Blue Luxury Line model, with 6 speed manual.
We recently featured a video of the F30 328i running to 155mph, now watch and compare with this video of the F30 335i doing the same. Both feature very impressive acceleration and gear changes.
The highly anticipated M Sport Package for the new F30 3-series sedan has made another appearance, this time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While earlier shows and presentations saw the 335i M Sport, this is the first time we see a 328i getting the M Sport treatment. As most should know, the exterior color is called Estoril Blue II and it’s exclusive to the M Sport package.
This car is also fitted with the M Sport Brakes comprising of fixed piston calipers painted in blue at all 4 corners (4-piston units at the front, 2-piston units at the rear).
The M Sport Package for the F30 3-series will be available as of July 2012 production, with first US deliveries to be expected in September.

We bring you the first dyno results from a 2012 335i (F30) sedan, performed by Challenge Mfg. USA (GTM_Challenge) on their recently delivered 335i. The F30 335i is powered by the N55 6-cylinder TwinPower twinscroll turbo engine and its factory quoted power figures are 300hp / 300lb-ft.
The 335i N55 dyno run resulted in 270whp and 273lb-ft torque. Note that the dyno was performed on a AWD Dynojet with linked AWD rollers. On a normal rear-roller-only system the numbers would be slightly higher (probably 5-10hp) given the less roller weight that would need to be moved.
What does this translate to in terms of crank HP (for comparison to the factory quoted figures)? Taking 275whp and 278lb-ft as the starting point and assuming a 15% drivetrain loss, it … CONTINUED

The U.S. 335i is quoted as producing 300hp / 300 lb-ft torque and achieves 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds for both auto and manual. Maximum horsepowers is achieved at 5800 RPM and max … CONTINUED
So, how do you properly test the performance of the new 2012 3 series F30 sedan? You take it out on a race track like Laguna Seca, as we did earlier this week.
But, if you really want to see the true limits of the F30′s performance, you hand it over to the professionals. BMW ALMS driver Bill Auberlen and ALMS+DTM driver Joey Hand were in attendance at Laguna Seca raceway to give us (and our members/readers) a wild ride around the track in both the F30 328i and 335i. Both the 328i and 335i were Sport Line models and had manual transmissions. The F30′s limits were phenomenal in their hands and we truly enjoyed their F30 review!
Both Joey and Bill were truly enthused about the … CONTINUED
