A special edition M3 coupe has finally been announced for the North American Market. The “2011 BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe” will be limited to only 20 units and be available for order on June, 16, 2011. Details, ordering info, and pricing details inside.
An E91 M3 Touring was never in the cards for this generation of M3s, but that hasn’t stopped wagon fans from undertaking their own custom conversions. We previously featured an M3POST member’s full E91 M3 custom build (both mechanicals and bodywork), but here’s yet another one.
This build only features cosmetics (save for the quad exhaust), but it’s an impressive build nevertheless. The exterior has custom built in the M3 style. But it doesn’t end there. The exterior also features a matte “frozen” black finish, much like the special edition M3s.
Famous Nurburgring Taxi pilot Sabine Schmitz gives her initial feedback after testing the Frozen Black M3 edition on the Zwartkops racetrack in CAR’s 2011 Performance Shootout, which will feature 12 hot cars. Of the M3, Sabine calls it “bloody fast,” “unbelievable,” and “my favorite.”
We previously brought you the first real life photos of the official BMW frozen black matte color for the M3, but BMW has now released the first official photos of the frozen black matte color option for the M3 ZCP competition package (including optional BMW accessories carbon fiber splitters & trunk spoiler).
We’ve updated with another photo and some larger and higher resolution photos of the M3 Frozen Black. What we know so far is that BMW plans to keep this finish very exclusive by offering only 27 units of this car worldwide. More details to come…
Here are the first photos of the new Frozen Black edition color to be offered for the M3. This color will join Frozen Gray and Frozen Sepang as BMW’s factory flat/matte color edition options.
