We’ve heard rumblings in the past weeks that the F82 M4 coupe had begun its public testing rounds and our spies have now spotted it for the very first time!

The prototype wears the typical heavy camouflage of early stage mules, but there’s plenty to analyze. There’s little doubt this is the M version of the upcoming 4 Series coupe. There are the signature M quad exhausts, the flared fenders, signature blue M brakes, wide tires, and M6 steering wheel.

Both the front and rear fenders on the M4 coupe are significantly flared and stretched compared to the F32 4 Series prototypes we have spotted. The rear flare is easy to spot, while the front is less conspicuous. But one can easily tell in photo #5 where the … CONTINUED

The 2013 M6 Coupe (F13) is a beautiful car, especially in its eye catching launch color - Valencia Orange. But, it’s refreshing to finally see it in another color (besides the Brilliant White M6 Coupe shown at the Beijing auto show). Here it is in San Marino Blue, which is the launch color for the M6 Convertible (F12). This M6 features the now-standard trunk spoiler for the coupe.

Both San Marino Blue and Sakhir Orange are available for the U.S. M6 coupe and the convertible as standard metallic colors in addition to Singapore Grey, Imperial Blue, Mojave (Havana), Black Sapphire, Space Grey, Silverstone and Alpine White. Current factory Individual colors ($1800 option) for the U.S. include Moonstone, Tanzanite Blue, Citrin Black, and Ruby Black.

We’ve posted below … CONTINUED

That a BMW M6 Gran Coupe is coming is no surprise. Afterall, we’ve posted several rounds of spy photos and videos of the soon-to-be flagship M model.

However, BMW has now finally officially acknowledged the model to be coming next year. It will likely arrive as a 2014 model year and see its auto show debut at the 2013 NAIAS in Detroit or the 2013 Geneva show. Expect the first details of the car to be announced online by the end of this year.

As the M6 Gran Coupe will utilize the same S63Tu engine as the F10 M5 (although the M6 Gran Coupe may be introduced with a slightly uprated power figure from the M5’s 560hp), it’s previously been spotted testing with and benchmarked against M5s (see … CONTINUED

New photos of the mystery shrouded BMW model spotted at the BMW Museum shows that it is indeed a coupe shape, ruling out the possibility that it is the F80 M3 sedan. However, new info and clues provide some guidance on what it may be.

The car is confirmed to have quad exhausts, which confirms that it’s an M model. We can think of two upcoming M models expected in the next 2-3 years bearing the shape and size suggested by the photos - the F82 M4 Coupe and M6 Gran Coupe. The rear tires on this model give further clues. They are Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 275/35/19 size, which is too small for the M6 Gran Coupe, which should share similar size tires as the … CONTINUED

A mystery BMW model appeared at the BMW Museum a bit over a month ago, shrouded under a big blue tarp. It’s yet to be positively identified, but could this possibly be the next generation F80 M3 sedan or F82 M4 coupe?

There’s not much to go off of by way of the sparse photos, but the one part of the car that can be partially seen - the wheels, happen to match the wheels that have been spotted on the F80 M3 sedan prototypes from our spy photos.

It’s premature for any F80 M3 concept to be shown, much less an F82 M4 coupe (the F32 4 series coupe upon which the M4 will be based has not even debuted yet), but is it just our hopeful … CONTINUED

The F10 M5 is now in service a the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC and an M5POST member was on hand to be one of the first lucky drivers to sample the new 2013 M5 at the facilities. As previously revealed, they all have the carbon ceramic rotors. This is his account of the experience:

In short, the car is fantastic. Some may miss the screaming V10 but the turbine like rush of acceleration, pulling hard from a slow corner even in 3rd, is mighty impressive. Second gear was even more impressive but I wasn’t brave enough in the short drive to explore the limits of MDM at corner exit.

Handling does feel to be the perfect mix of a smooth yet firm ride, and tight … CONTINUED
