The F10 5 Series and F10 M5 LCI refresh models are coming soon, but spy photos have shown the external styling updates will be understated, with tweaks to the upper front fascia and headlight updates (sleeker looking and with optional full LED squared-off headlights), but the M5 will receive no changes to the lower front bumper design. Like the 5 Series, the F10 M5 will also receive light updates to its tail lights and lower rear bumper.
As for the interior, the most recent 5 Series LCI spy photos show that it will be offered with the new iDrive touch system. The M5 LCI will receive the M6 steering wheel as standard.

These two desirable BMW coupes are on exhibit at the 2013 NY auto show, with the F13 M6 coupe representing the newly here while the 135is coupe is on its way out.

Now that the 4 Series Coupe (F32) has been revealed [photos], we thought we’d take another crack at imagining and predicting the look of the 2015 M4 Coupe (F82), while adding some track aero parts, for fun.
With the latest F82 M4 prototype sighting (gallery below), we have seen the following:
• Double slatted kidney grilles
• M4 badge on kidney grilles (a la M6) (currently covered)
• LED headlights
• LED tail lights
• Carbon ceramic brakes (optional) being tested in signature gold color (just as on F80 M3 prototype)

As expected, the 2014 F10 M5 will be receiving a LCI update/facelift together with the F10 5 Series. The 5 Series LCI facelift has already been partially revealed, but it’s been unknown how much of the M5′s design would be affected.
These spy photos show that the F10 M5 will receive the same upper front fascia and headlight updates [pics] as the 5 Series, but will receive no changes to the lower front bumper design. Like the 5 Series, the F10 M5 will also receive light updates to its tail lights and lower rear bumper.
The 5 Series LCI will receive tweaks to its steering, but it’s not yet known if the F10 M5 will be affected by this, or receive any other mechanical updates.

On May 11, 2013, BMW Performance Driving Instructor Johan Schwartz will have a go at beating the Guinness Book of World Record for the world’s longest drift, while driving one of the BMW Performance Center’s M school cars – a F10 M5.
The attempt will be made on the BMW Performance Center skid pad – the same one used to teach skid techniques at the BMW driving schools. And the factory M5 is one of the most fitting BMW models for this attempt, as its 560hp and 502 lb-ft torque easily breaks the rear end traction of the RWD sedan loose.
The current world’s longest drift record which Schwartz have to beat is 19,035 feet (nearly 3.6 miles), set Sept. 30, 2011 in China.
