BMW tuner Alpha-N has released photos and some specs for their Alpha-N BMW M3 Coupe.
On the power front, a combination of a software ECU tune, a Dinan carbon fiber air intake, carbon fiber airbox cover and air intake snorkels, and an Akrapovic exhaust system manages to add 30hp the M3’s power figure.
The Alpha-N aero kit makes ample use of carbon fiber, with a CF front spoiler lip with brake cooling vents (by RKP), CF rear diffuser (by Varis), and CF rear spoiler wing (by RKP). The M3 coupe sits lowered on KW coilover suspension. The wheels shown are 19″ OZ Superfogiata wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. Recaro Pro Racer Hans one racing seats replace the factory M3 seats.
A gorgeous carbon fiber engine cover … CONTINUED

After studying the first photos of the F80 M3 with its “power dome” we think that it’s likely to be a functional heat extractor vent underneath the camouflage. Let’s analyze.
The shape of the bulge on the M3’s hood is not the typical fully raised dome as seen on the E90/E92 M3 or E46 M3. Instead, it’s a raised “U” shape with 3 raised sides while the area in between remains level with the rest of the hood. See the render below for a visual.
Assuming there is a functional reason for the hood dome in the first place, we can’t think of a reason for this particular shape if the goal is to provide clearance for some engine parts underneath. However, the raised hood shape makes far … CONTINUED
We have posted even more photos of the latest 2014 M3 (F80) sedan prototype to be spotted, which shows a more aggressive hood with power dome/bulge.
We’ve just spied this afternoon this F80 M3 sedan prototype showing a power dome / hood bulge for the first time. The M3 may have now entered the FEP (Final Evaluation Phase) stage of testing. Until now some M enthusiasts have been disappointed to see the lack of a power dome on previous prototypes, but this mule confirms that the F80 M3 and F82 M4 will feature an aggressively shaped hood.
The rest of the camouflage remains as concealing as on prior mules. As seen clearly, the M3 kidney grilles are sportier than the F30 3 Series, yet not as thin nor wide as the recently exposed F82 M4 coupe grilles (pictured below for comparison). The headlights underneath the camo may (unconfirmed) also be a sleeker version … CONTINUED
Here are some renders put together by site member E92Alpine328i (Jerry).
Our analysis:
M4 COUPE (F82)
The F82 M4 coupe render will prove to be the more accurate of the two. Most accurate is the M6 style bumper, which BMW insider Scott26 has recently said (and sketched) to be the styling to expect for the M4 coupe. The F32 4 Series coupe and F82 M4 coupe are expected to feature similar headlights to the F30 3 series, but should be sleeker/slimmer. Their kidney grilles will be also be sleeker than those seen on the render, as the recently exposed 4 Series coupe grille spy photos show.
No spy photos have yet to show a hood bulge, and the anticipated inline 6 turbo engine should fit under the bonnet without … CONTINUED
EVO takes the Lotus Exige and stacks it up against some very formidable opposition - the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, Nissan GT-R, Mercedes Benz C63 AMG coupe, and the M3 GTS coupe.
Outcome? See inside.
We brought you the first photos of the 2015 M4 Coupe prototype earlier today, now have a first live look and listen at the prototype in action on the Nurburgring.
What you’re seeing and hearing is the F80 M3 / F82 M4’s anticipated inline 6 cylinder engine with multiple turbochargers, pushing approximately 450 horsepowers. The engine has been rumored to be an extensively reworked and reinforced N55 6-cylinder engine with a strengthened aluminium block with a heavily modified cylinder head. The Induction technology is said to be completely new as will be the latest bi-vanos variable valve timing. But, we also think that there may be a possibility that the engine turns out to be a reworked/enhanced version of a successor engine to the N55 (which has … CONTINUED
We’ve heard rumblings in the past weeks that the F82 M4 coupe had begun its public testing rounds and our spies have now spotted it for the very first time!
The prototype wears the typical heavy camouflage of early stage mules, but there’s plenty to analyze. There’s little doubt this is the M version of the upcoming 4 Series coupe. There are the signature M quad exhausts, the flared fenders, signature blue M brakes, wide tires, and M6 steering wheel.
Both the front and rear fenders on the M4 coupe are significantly flared and stretched compared to the F32 4 Series prototypes we have spotted. The rear flare is easy to spot, while the front is less conspicuous. But one can easily tell in photo #5 where the … CONTINUED
