The F10 5 Series and F10 M5 LCI refresh models are coming soon, but spy photos have shown the external styling updates will be understated, with tweaks to the upper front fascia and headlight updates (sleeker looking and with optional full LED squared-off headlights), but the M5 will receive no changes to the lower front bumper design. Like the 5 Series, the F10 M5 will also receive light updates to its tail lights and lower rear bumper.
As for the interior, the most recent 5 Series LCI spy photos show that it will be offered with the new iDrive touch system. The M5 LCI will receive the M6 steering wheel as standard.
With these changes in mind, we’ve mocked up a preview render look at the F10 … CONTINUED

The M6 steering wheel seen here will be equipped in the upcoming F10 M5 LCI (facelift model)
As expected, the 2014 F10 M5 will be receiving a LCI update/facelift together with the F10 5 Series. The 5 Series LCI facelift has already been partially revealed, but it’s been unknown how much of the M5′s design would be affected.
These spy photos show that the F10 M5 will receive the same upper front fascia and headlight updates [pics] as the 5 Series, but will receive no changes to the lower front bumper design. Like the 5 Series, the F10 M5 will also receive light updates to its tail lights and lower rear bumper.
The 5 Series LCI will receive tweaks to its steering, but it’s not yet known if the F10 M5 will be affected by this, or receive any other mechanical updates.
On May 11, 2013, BMW Performance Driving Instructor Johan Schwartz will have a go at beating the Guinness Book of World Record for the world’s longest drift, while driving one of the BMW Performance Center’s M school cars – a F10 M5.
The attempt will be made on the BMW Performance Center skid pad – the same one used to teach skid techniques at the BMW driving schools. And the factory M5 is one of the most fitting BMW models for this attempt, as its 560hp and 502 lb-ft torque easily breaks the rear end traction of the RWD sedan loose.
The current world’s longest drift record which Schwartz have to beat is 19,035 feet (nearly 3.6 miles), set Sept. 30, 2011 in China.

Hamann showcases its F10 M5 Mi5Sion at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, or what we think might be an M5
To say it’s a radical looking kit for the M5 would be an understatement. The Mi5Sion M5 receives widebody fenders that have added 30mm on each side. It has custom front and rear bumpers, carbon fiber trunk spoiler, door handles, and rear diffuser.
The interior features a contrasting black-white theme, with Alpine White and black leather seats to match the exterior and white trims throughout to continue the theme.

On Saturday, February 16, 2013, the M Owners Club of Indonesia (MOCI) held one of their most exciting meet events in Jakarta. The. event was originally scheduled for last month, but due to heavy rain and flooding in some areas in Jakarta.
This newly scheduled event was held as a charity event, with the donations and proceeds going to help the flood affected areas. The event was joined by other car clubs as well, with owners of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and other exotics in attendance and driving in the events.
M5POST member RPiM5 shares with us his direct experience after six months of F10 M5 ownership, compared to his time with the E60 M5 (his car prior to the F10 M5).
Best things about the E60 M5:
1. S85 V10 engine! (with aftermarket exhaust, there’s almost no equal to the exhaust note. This is even more true if you do aftermarket headers!)
2. Smaller size of E60
3. Lighter weight of E60
4. SMG Transmission (Almost no other transmission can rattle the fillings out of your teeth like S6 mode can!)
5. Adjustable Side Bolsters
6. Active Side Bolsters
7. The option for comfort seats rather than just sport seats.
Worst things about the E60 M5:
1. S85 V10 engine! (reliability!!!)
2. Reliability of everything else … CONTINUED
