Martha Stewart accepted BMW’s invitation to design her dream BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle using BMW’s “Dream It. Build It. Drive It.” program. Martha used the “Build Your Own” online tool on bmwusa.com to customize her own BMW X3.
Customization is a specialty for the new BMW X3, the vehicle has more than 70 million unique configurations. BMWNA has launched the first-ever user-generated iAD to promote the launch of the all-new BMW X3. iAd is Apple’s new mobile advertising network, reaching millions of iPhone and iPod touch users. The iAD’s focus is on BMW’s built-to-order program that allows customers to create an entirely customized BMW X3. The iAd, the primary mobile component of the X3’s marketing campaign, allows an individual to go from dreaming about a new custom-built X3 to having it delivered to their driveway in just a few weeks.

In grand style, BMW marked the official World Premiere of the BMW X3 by driving out an X3 as the first car out of the gates during the press conference. The X3 was also showcased in both diesel and gasoline versions with and without M-Sport.

While no press test drives for the new X3 have been available yet, David Thomas from Cars.com recently had an opportunity to poke around a preproduction 2011 X3 at the BMW Championship at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. He came away very impressed at its upgraded quality, design, and size from the first generation X3.
The 2011 BMW X3 makes its worldwide public debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of this month.
The German BMW X3 Brochure has been released. English speakers unable to read the text can nonetheless gleam the X3 features, options, accessories, and packages from the photos. We will bring you the US version when available.
BMW is shooting to sell 25,000 X3s in the U.S. for the 2011 calendar year, according to Insideline. For comparison, BMW sold 17,622 X3s in 2008. Also, custom ordered X3s will have exclusive options not available to off-the-lot models.
To better capture the U.S. market with the new BMW X3, BMW spent more time and effort on new North American owner friendly upholders than anyone would ever expect. Big Gulp fans rejoice. Seriously though, if this proves helpful to North American X3 sales, then it was money and time well spent.
Now that the 2012 X3 has been officially announced and shown by BMW, X3s are free to roam the streets naked, without their constricting and stuffy camouflage coverings. Spotted here in Munich are black and white X3s, the first real life photos of uncovered 2012 X3′s.
