The 2013 F10 M5 with its 4.4L V8 S63Tu turbo engine has previously been shown to be underrated from the factory, which is BMW’s habit with its official quote power figures.
The latest results showing this come from iND who have just begun performance testing on their F10 M5. The result was 527 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower) on a totally stock F10 M5 running on pump gas and dyno’d on a dynojet. This represents just a 6% drivetrain loss.
The M5′s S63tu V8 runs a higher compression at 10.0:1 (@ 22 PSI), compared to the X5M/X6M S63 engine’s 9.3:1 (@ 17 PSI).
Manhart Racing has unveiled its new MH5 S Biturbo tuning program for the BMW M5 (F10).
The first stage tuning package breathes more power into the M5′s bi-turbo 4.4L V8 S63Tu engine by pushing it 624hp (633 PS / 466 kW) and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque. This is an increase of +72hp (73 PS / 54 kW) and 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) over factory.
Yet to come will be even more powerful stages which will produce 661hp (670 PS / 493 kW) and 725hp (735 PS / 541 kW). Full details are not yet released, but you can bet on changes to the F10 M5′s turbochargers, downpipes and exhaust system to achieve these monstrous figures.

Since its recent European market introduction, many a M5 fan has been waiting to see the tuning potential of the new F10 M5 and its beefy 560hp bi-turbo S63Tu engine. The first F10 M5 ECU tune has now been released, by the German tuning company, PP-Performance.
They were recently able to crack the factory ECU and their Stage 1 tune added:
Gains: +60hp and +70Nm (51lb-ft) torque
New total output: 620 HP / 750Nm (553lb-ft) torque
The price for the stage 1 tune has been set at 3,499 € (euros). Their Stage 2 tune is already in the works, so expect even higher modified numbers from the F10 M5 soon.

Here is an explanation of some of the components seen on the S63Tu engine, as well as how they work together.
