It’s still quite new on the market but already has many admirers: In February, the new BMW 3- series was launched officially. Now the smart, energetic Bavarian is winning even more hearts at the international Motor Show in Geneva - helped by the tuning specialists at AC Schnitzer.

The Aachen-based experts from AC Schnitzer help the 3-series make an even more impressive appearance with a performance upgrade for the BMW 328i. An extra control unit allows it to deliver 217 kW/ 295 HP and a maximum torque of 410 Nm onto the asphalt, and with its governed top speed of 250 km/h the 3-series by AC Schnitzer tightens the bonds to its driver. As appearances are also important, these inner values are reflected in the AC Schnitzer … CONTINUED

THE BMW ALPINA B6 BITURBO – CABRIO INDULGENCE AND COUPE CULTURE

DRIVE – FIRST CLASS PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY

For ALPINA, a technology driven company, standstill is a foreign word. Since the introduction of the B7 Bi-Turbo, the engineers from Buchloe, Germany, have been continuously working on the details of the turbo charging and intercooler system.

Consequently, the all-aluminium V8 power plant now produces 540hp (397kW) at a moderate 5200 to 6250rpm, with a maximum torque of 730Nm from 2800 to 5000rpm. Two turbo-chargers configured in parallel, each feeding one of the two cylinder banks, with specially developed large diameter exhaust-turbines allow this engine configura- tion to provide both exceptional power output and an abundance of torque over an especially broad rpm range while maintaining excellent throttle response at low … CONTINUED

The M Performance Parts party continues. Just minutes after our Live Gallery of the F20 125i equipped with M Performance Parts, BMW has published the full M Performance parts catalog to coincide with its official release/announcement at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow.

M Performance Parts carry the M name because they have been developed together with M engineers for both performance and aesthetics enhancement. This collaboration with M engineers began just last year. This is what sets M Performance Parts apart from what used to be called simply “BMW Performance Parts” (which will be no more going forward).

As of now, M Performance Parts are or will be available for these models:

F10 5-series
F20 1-series
F30 3-serie… CONTINUED

Our live coverage from Geneva 2012 continues. Another world premiere is the F20 125i equipped with the just-launched M Performance Parts. Unlike the old Performance Parts, M Performance parts have been developed with M engineers. Also unlike the old Performance Parts, M Performance exterior parts are designed to complement the M Sport package. The front splitter and lip simply attach to the M Sport front bumper while the rear diffuser simply replaces the rear diffuser of the M Sport package. No whole replacements of bumpers required any longer. This will be a feature of all exterior M Performance parts for all BMW models.

Also seen on this 125i are lovely 19″ M Performance wheels (available in 20″ for the F10 and the F30), and the M Performance … CONTINUED

One of the BMWs Hamann has trotted out to showcase at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is their new M5 F10.

While we can’t say that it’s an improvement exterior-wise, there’s certainly no lack add of aero parts for the Hamman F10 M5 cosmetic program as one can see from the photos below. The suspension is lowered by 30mm on Hamann springs and this M5 sits on Unique Forged II wheels (21×9.5F 21×12R + 265/30 ZR and 325/25 ZR tires).

As for power upgrades, Hamann’s custom exhaust system and an ECU tune bumps the M5’s power to 720hp and an incredible 900Nm (664 lb/ft) of torque.

We’ll bring you live pics and more details tomorrow from the auto show.

AC Schnitzer has revealed its ACS5 M5 Tuning Package ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow next week. The ACS5 package features both cosmetic and performance enhancements.

The F10 M5’s already potent S63Tu motor receives a power increase (via ECU tune) to 620hp / 790Nm (582lb-ft) torque. The growl coming from the M5 is enhanced via the AC Schnitzer twin sports silencer with valve control, with its chrome tailpipes.

The M5 is lowered on AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit and wheel options are the Type VIII racing and forged alloy rims in 21 inch, Type V forged alloy wheels in 20 inch and Type IV BiColor rims in the same size.

The ACS5 is covered in a matte blue color they call “Magic Blue” and extra bodywork … CONTINUED
