Martha Stewart accepted BMW’s invitation to design her dream BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle using BMW’s “Dream It. Build It. Drive It.” program. Martha used the “Build Your Own” online tool on bmwusa.com to customize her own BMW X3.
Customization is a specialty for the new BMW X3, the vehicle has more than 70 million unique configurations. Martha Stewart designed her X3xDrive35i to have a Sparkling Bronze Metallic exterior, one of three special exterior colors that are only available for BMW X3 custom orders. Martha’s BMW X3 has a Sand Beige Nevada Leather interior and Fineline Wave Wood Interior Trim.

Here is a neat look at a recent cinema advertising campaign undertaken by BMW which utilizes a phenomenon called the After-Image Effect. The After-Image Effect is the visual effect one experiences when looking at a bright light source (such as the sun or camera flash) and the spots one sees when closing the eyes immediately afterwards.
In this ad, the BMW letters flashes momentarily towards the end of the ad and the viewers were asked to close their eyes immediately after conclusion of the ad spot. What they saw was a lingering BMW sign. Viola, the first advertising commercial that doesn’t use a directly visible logo! Oh, and the ad isn’t too shabby either – featuring sportbike champ Ruben Xaus.

We’ve seen many great videos of some great runs on the M3, showing proper lines, shifting, and overall driving, but this one takes the cake on how NOT to drive on the Nurburgring. The driver is clearly unfamiliar with the proper way to run on the Nordschleife and to handle his M3. His driving follies would be entertaining, if not for the fact that it poses danger to others on the open-to-public track.
The 1-series M Coupe’s full release and specs will come at approximately 6PM EST, but basic specs have been posted by BMW insider Scott26. The 1M Coupe will feature 335hp, 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds, 332 lb-ft torque (+37 overboost), and 1570kg (EU) weight. Pricing will come in at approximately 50,500 Euros.
