We have just been through the international media launch event for the 2014 BMW X5 in beautiful Vancouver.

This week kicks off the U.S. media launch for the all new 2014 BMW X5 (F15) [Official Thread] and we’re on hand in Vancouver for the event.

Despite these confirmations, stubborn rumors pop up periodically regarding a potential V6 configuration for the upcoming s55 engine.

Video set of the newly launched 2014 BMW X5 xDrive50i (in Mineral White) and xDrive30d (in Space Gray), with looks at driving scenes, exterior design and the interiors/functionality.
The 2014 xDrive50i is powered by a 4.4L V8 outputting 445hp / 480 lb-ft and covers 0-60mph in 4.9 sec. It starts at $68,200 in the U.S. The xDrive30d is not available in the U.S., but the xDrive35d comes in early 2014 [more details].
We’ve heard the upcoming M3/M4 at high speeds on the Nurburgring, but haven’t had many chances to hear it accelerating from a stop. Well, here’s a good listen, as this F80 M3 prototype was spotted by BIMMERPOST member KKM3 on the Pacific Coast Highway last night.
The M3 here doesn’t accelerate to redline nor at wide open throttle, and the clip is short, but we nonetheless get a good sound preview of the car’s inline 6 cylinder S55 engine and exhaust.
