German AMS has published an interesting article comparing the BMW 525d sedan with the Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 D.
Unlike the name suggests, the 525d is powered by BMW’s N57 3.0l inline-6 Diesel engine, yet with a lower output of 204hp and 450 NM (530d: 258hp). It’s quite popular in Europe because it’s the entry level inline-6 Diesel. The car tested was matched with the optional 8-speed automatic.

Here’s a first teaser for one of the most heated ‘battles’ in 2011. Audi recently pulled the wraps off their all new A6, and this encouraged the folks at Autozeitung to a first comparison. The contenders: BMW F10 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-class.

Mercedes pulling the wraps off their new SLK (R172) is reason enough for another photo comparison. This one is particularly interesting as BMW’s move to build the current Z4 (E89) with a folding steel roof makes it all the more of a natural rival to the SLK. Mercedes pretty much started the segment of hardtop roadsters by launching the first generation SLK in 1996.

Mercedes-Benz released the first details and pictures of the facelifted C-Class yesterday. As always, it’s a fun exercise to compare direct competitors, so let’s see how the new facelifted C class fares against the E90 LCI which was presented back in 2008.

The 1 series M coupe is said to complete the Nurbrugring lap in 8:12. For comparison, this is 10 seconds faster than E46 M3, same time as Z4 M-coupe, 7 seconds slower than the E90/E92 M3, and 22 seconds slower than the E46 M3 CSL.
BMW has posted a useful comparison chart of the 1M coupe versus the Audi TT-RS and Cayman S which shows that the 1M stacks up favorably against two cars which are significantly more expensive in price (both nearly $20k higher in price).
