BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina recorded another milestone in their 15 year history as the 1 millionth BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle® rolled off the production line today at BMW Manufacturing Co. Richard Aucock provides some interesting details on how the new X5 has more X5M DNA than some might think. For example, systems such as the DTC profile and M-specific xDrive profile have been brought down from the touted X5M into the new standard X5.
BMW Performance parts for the X5 and X6 were recently released at the Geneva Autoshow last month. Until now all we had to work on were the live shots taken @ the autoshow itself. At the upcoming NY International Auto Show, the all-new 5 Series will share the spotlight with the 335is Coupe and Convertible and BMW X5 SAV, which are also making their North American debuts and the BMW Alpina B7 xDrive which is making its World debut. All of the new BMWs will be 2011 models.
The 2011 LCI (facelifted) X5 was officially announced by BMW just a month ago and it is not making its live world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
