We’ve uploaded a ton of videos for the all new 2015 BMW X5 M (F85) and X6 M (F86), including an interview with Albert Biermann, head engineer at BMW M.
The F85 and F86 looking great under the studio lights at Auto Bild’s facilities.
Introducing the 2015 BMW X5 M (F85) and X6 M (F86)!
The new BMW X5 M and new BMW X6 M see BMW M GmbH setting the pace once again in the high-performance Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) segment. When the previous generation of the two vehicles arrived in 2009, it was the first time the high-performance character distilled by BMW M GmbH had been transplanted into an all- wheel-drive BMW X model. The result was class-leading dynamics. The new BMW … CONTINUED
BMW teases the F85 X5 M and F86 X6 M in this new video. Not much can be made of the styling, but we hear some great sounds.
We will reveal the new X5M and X6M to you in just a few weeks.
The reveal of the all new 2014 BMW X5 (F15) is imminent, but testing continues on the F15 X5 M.
Testing on the F15 X5 M began last year [first sighting], but current mules have now dropped much camouflage. What’s revealed are the expected signature M components – huge front air intakes, aggressive sideskirts and rear diffuser, blue M brakes, and cross drilled rotors (the first for any X5 model). We also get a better look at the quad exhaust pipes which, unlike the current X5 … CONTINUED
In this video, race car driver Scott Pruett and BMW Product & Technology Communications Manager Matt Russell explain the BMW M Electronic Damper Control (EDC) system and how the Comfort, Sport and Sport+ suspension settings make a difference in the F10 M5 and F12/F13 M6.
Although the M5 and M6 use an M tuned version of the BMW EDC, here is a general summary of EDC technology from BMW:
Electronic Damper Control (EDC) automatically or manually adjusts each damper to suit the driving conditions meaning you enjoy … CONTINUED
We’ve captured the next generation X5 M prototype on video for the first time and despite all its camouflage and cladding, still impresses with its furious sounds on the Nurbrugring test track. Have a look and listen inside.
The 555hp X5 M is fast, but not faster than the M3 around a track. That is unless it puts it capabilities to creative uses. Watch one way the X5 M with its AWD w/ torque vectoring rear differential can beat the M3 around turns on a track
Munich. With its BMW M Performance Automobiles, BMW M GmbH is adding four newly developed models to its product range. This must have felt like Christmas for the folks at Autobild. Autobild knows what it takes to have a great story and has done a special edition on BMW M models, called “Fascination M.” In this special comparo, Autobild gives an overview of all current BMW M models as well as interesting insights into M GmbH. Most interestingly, Autobild pitted all (yes, all) currently available M models against each other on a German race track named Sachsenring.
The outcome? As you’d expect, the M3 CRT (it’s sold … CONTINUED
The BMW X5 M was not built to be a drag racer (nor is any BMW for that matter), but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be an absolute brute on the quarter mile track, despite its hefty 5,368 pounds curb weight. Given its torque crazy bi-turbo motor, that’s no surprise.
The bi-turbo engine also reacts very well to software tunes and this video shows just how much tuning potential the motor has. RENNtech was able to run in the 11′s while testing out their … CONTINUED
The BMW M Power Tour swept through Colombia in July, as part of the M Power Tour for Latin America. The event featured 3 days of M nirvana, with track time available in a total of nine M cars – as drivers or passengers in the thrill rides provided by BMW’s driving instructors.
The nine M cars featured BMW M’s latest and greatest – the BMW 1M coupe, the M3, the X5 M, and the X6 M.
Check out incredible looking experience in the video inside. Thanks … CONTINUED
We have added a live-look video of the BMW M underground garage for your viewing pleasure. It hopefully gives our readers a better sense of the mystique and aura of the environment, which only added to the truly special moment and the heritage of the collection of cars we were witnessing.

Active Autowerke held its 30th anniversary spring social this past weekend. Attendance was high and the rides were stunning. A slew of photos and a video from the enthusiast gathering have been posted inside.
How often do you see a “truck” accelerating this fast, with the needle moving revving so quickly, and sounding this good? Probably never, unless you’re looking at an X5M or X6M and its monster S63 motor. Check out this very visceral video of the X5M from outside and inside.
A must see for all ///M fans, this video provides a unique look into M Headquarters where prototypes are built and tested, M Design Studio responsible for designs, the M engine factory, and the M Test Center at the Nurburgring, and finally the vehicle assembly plants.
