We previously provided info on 2012 BMW model updates/changes/pricing for most 2012 models (links inside), but for reference again, here is a summary of the major changes across the entire range of 2012 model year BMWs for the US market.
The BMW X6 LCI (facelift) is coming next Spring and we bring you photos which preview the coming changes. Consistent with BMW’s recipe for subtle facelifts, the X6′s mid-life refresh will bring revised and more aggressive front bumpers without fog lights. Following path of the new 6-series, full LED headlights will be available as an option and are shown in these spyshots. You can also see the LED daytime running lights.
The X6 LCI models will also sport new kidney grilles which will take on a more three-dimensional look – owing to the kink in the lower half of the kidney slats. The X6 rear will receive revised rear-light graphics sporting BMW’s latest LED design. We’d also expect some subtle changes in the interior.

Well folks, we’re all done here at the 2011 Geneva auto show and hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we enjoyed sharing it with our community. Geneva is always an exciting show because of all shows, it’s arguably the largest in the world and always features an unrivaled number of exotics and tuning companies on display. Geneva is also traditionally one of the most important shows for BMW due to its proximity to BMW’s home market and prominence among the auto show circuit events.
This year again featured several debuts of BMW models, packages, and technologies, as well as plenty of aftermarket tuner models. As a show wrap-up, we’ve summarized our coverage below, enjoy!
While touring the Geneva autoshow, you come across all sorts of BMWs, not just the OEM products BMW has on display, but a whole array of cars from aftermarket tuners. Here is the Lumma CLR X650, based on the BMW X6.
The massive bodykit widens the SUV by 5 cm on each side with an accompanying front bumper that means business. Carbon fibre is on tap a plenty to give the pure aftermarket look to BMW’s most sporty SUV. In the end, this isn’t my cup of tea, but the desired effect was accomplished as the SUV certainly stands out among the pack.
Additions to the BMW Performance product portfolio for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 3 Series and for the BMW X5 and BMW X6 are being presented at 2011 Geneva autoshow. These include, inter alia, the new BMW Performance sports steering wheel and the BMW Performance Power Kit for the current four-cylinder diesel engines. Also, the range of Original BMW Accessories being presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show includes the latest M Performance components for the BMW M3.
New Options to be available:
* 20″ Wheels
* BMW Apps
* Optional 3-Seat Rear seat configuration on the X6.
Superior handling, commanding traction and characteristic styling are key contributors to the stand-out position the BMW X5 and BMW X6 models enjoy among the premium all-wheel-drive vehicles of their segment. Spring 2011 sees the introduction of specific additions to the range of special options to ratchet up the appeal even further. Among other features, new 20-inch light-alloy wheel rims are available for both models, while the choice of BMW ConnectedDrive technology has been augmented by the innovative BMW Apps feature. Meanwhile, a three-seater rear seat option making its debut in April 2011 adds greater flexibility to the usage of the interior of the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupé, which … CONTINUED
Here’s an older but great review by well respected auto journalist Chris Harris track testing the X6 against some considerably more expensive (and powerful) competitors – the Cayenne Turbo, ML63 AMG, and Q7 V12. The SUV/SAVs are driven around a small and fairly technical track where the X6 turns in an impressive performance. Video and results inside.
