The M Power Driving Experience took place for M VIPs at the Goodwood Race Circuit recently. Everything from 1M Coupes to an X6M, with ex Le Mans / F1 driver and presenter of Fifth Gear Tiff Needell were present to make it a memorable experience. 1ADDICTS member Aussie_in_London was in attendance and shares his experience with us.

This was Aussie_in_London’s introduction to the most powerful letter in the world and all the more better for it than at one of the most historic race circuits in the UK that remains the same today as it did back when it ended Sir Stirling Moss’s international racing career.

As if the X6M did not already have enough power, an even higher powered BMW X6 M model has just been spied testing in Germany!

This is the ’special X6M’ which SCOTT26 referred to yesterday. So far, it features a massive hood air scoop and what appears to be taped up air extractor outlets (cosmetic only?) flanking the scoop. The sideskirts are also a more aggressive design than the regular X6M.

The current X6M already boasts 555hp. Could we possibly see 600hp or more in this even higher powered X6M? Taking guesses on the final power numbers, so chime in.

Automobile speculates on and previews the next generation X5 and X6, which they’ve labeled as 2014 models and placed their debut of the X5 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, with the X6 to debut six months later.

Beginning with March production, the following changes take place for X5 M and X6M:

* X5M and X6M each become 2012 models
* Each receives as standard equipment iPod/USB Adapter (6FL)
* X5M receives power tailgate as standard equipment
* Each receives BMW Apps (6NR) as an option with April production

For the second consecutive year, the readers of the German Autobild publication “Autobild Sportscars” have chosen the BMW X6 M as the ’sportscar of the year’ in the SUV category. The ‘Sportscars of the Year’ awards were held for the 8th time in 2010. More than 68,000 readers participated picking their favourites out of 173 models, divided in 17 vehicle categories. The award ceremony took place during the ‘Race Night’ at the Essen Motor Show.
