My information coming from BMW, they are going to be unveiled in March 2022 coinciding with the 50th. Parts ordering shortly afterwards with no known exact date or price.

Initial post says they can be ordered by end of Jan and production begins by March.

I’m sorry I was miss understood. Unveiled I meant you won’t see new production till March and ordering I meant for over the counter parts for us that already have new cars. Ordering in Jan is for new to be built cars. I could have been more clear and was answering for us that have cars already.

Isnt it time to move past that good old topic.

On a side note, BMW is selling these like hot cakes. Its hard to find an allocation without markup and BMW has plenty of buyers lined up. So they should be good.

The anniversary badges are for FREE => I'm building / ordering / negotiating M3CX spec for me and I got spec from BMW dealer where

3MQ (code of 50th anniversary emblem) = 0 cost

Correct, it should be also standard for all cars with M Sport / MPA / BMW M and you need to choose that you do not want them, not the other way around

TBH it works exactly as you suggested - I didn’t choose this option by myself, BMW added this (by default for January’s orders?) for me

Any vehicles which has a scheduled production week of march or later will have this as standard option.

Looks like I didn’t read brochure about 50th anniversary carefully enough, so I was surprised a little bit.

Maybe BMW guys thought I was aware of it and they didn’t informed me about a small detail added to my spec. It would be nice to have a possibility to make a choice - I guess there are ppl who would feel bad due to an extra spec in their order without knowledge

(OFC they should be more careful reading final spec before the final call/order)

This is not the first time it's happening.

In MY22 BMW removed laser lights from executive package and had it as a standalone option unlike MY21. Several people / dealers who didnt pay attention to detail, ended up getting their vehicles with standard headlight and were not happy.

IND is already working on making a painted version available once they go on sale.

I was hoping for a transparent BMW Roundel with some color patterns, like the BMW graphic logo. You can see your paint through the BMW Roundel.

I would order them already installed or ask your SA to save a few for you. They will probably have a bucket full.

If you install the IND version, you can easily pass the stock ones off to a friend. If you don't like the 50th anniversary design, it is easy to order the plain BMW Roundels or the IND painted ones.

These are already on the BMW dealer builder (noticed them a couple weeks ago) and they're standard on all M cars. You do have the option for standard emblems as well.

They're also available for the M Performance cars for $200.

Well, this is interesting. I placed an order for a M340i xDrive on the 25th of this month, so I'm wondering if this is or was "available" for me to request... The roundels, not a special color.

If your build is March or later, it should be a default option.

Unfortunately, my build production is scheduled for this month according to my dealer so it will not be eligible for the emblems. He said I could ditch this build, they could add it to stock and look for another authorization for a March production but then there is no guarantee that they would get one. So, that's a hard pass.
