Maybe it’ll kill the fire ants.

does snow kill fire ants or do fire ants melt snow with their fire? third option is in counteracting the snow, the fire ants are consumed in the process.. valid question

I wonder if the BBS XR in 18x8 ET28 would fit?

Anyone in the Netherlands, Belgium or Western Germany with the ZTK or M-Performance brake setup want to help me figure this out?

So I ordered the M Performance that came with the calipers/CD/S rotors and all mounting hardware, and swapped calipers/rotors with my dad's M Sport 440xi.

I well might go with your idea, seems much easier less convoluted. Especially since rear brakes I believe are the same?

What about all the tiny pieces of hardware/mounting/brackets?

Or is all I need is part #'s for the front Blue calipers + 374mm rotors + pads + sensors? That would be a lot easier. I haven't seen any part numbers for these and don't know if it would be much different in price as my understanding was the larger calipers/rotors would still be up there, looks like the M Perf Red brake kit is 2.3-2.5k.?

Thanks and sorry for the questions.

I realize this is an old post and I'm sure you figured out your brakes by now, but there are a bunch of options to order OEM parts other than through the dealer - getbmwparts.com is my go-to for things like this.

Took mine last night to the track. The oil temp as far as I could tell never even moved 1 degree.

Brakes never faded, but I am getting a fluid flush tomorrow, as they are a little more spongy the day after.

Did you turn off all the nannies?

I'm going out this weekend and have flushed my brake fluid with ATE high temp fluid in advance...also swapped out brake lines with all stainless steel...

Actually the 2020 was in the expert class, so technically yes. He was an actual racer who was competing with a Camaro later this week.

I did. Hold the button down for 3 seconds.

I'm hoping the brake flush brings back the better pedal feel.

If anyone cares.. My brakes are back to normal after the brake fluid flush today.

It was fun watching a 2000 Civic Si blow it's engine in front of me. The oil on my windshield was not as fun.

Doh! Hope the car cleaned up w/o any issues. Good to hear the brakes are functioning normally.

Wish you had a dashcam to record the engine blowing. I've always wondered what it would look like in real.

I was gonna use my iPhone, but then I took it off the dash…

It was just a lot of smoke and spraying of some oil.

So was at Summit Point track this weekend.......brakes held up perfectly with new ATE fluid and stock pads....oil temp didn't move at all (I have the additional cooler)......tires held up with 6 psi increase when hot (up to 125 degrees from 65 cold).....left transmission in auto sport because of the tight very technical course and it performed great...power and acceleration was good...only thing lacking was steering feel and turn-in ability compared to my M2...

Kept up with most of the M3s and M4s after I knocked the rust off myself after a year not being on track......

Pretty good for a daily driver!

That's the new M3 in front of me in the paddock....

It's best viewed from the vantage point of a couch. In car it can be scary.

I was driving a student's E46M3 at Laguna and my friend was in his brother's E46M3 during an instructor session (e.g., non-sanctioned club race). My friend blew the engine right around turn 7 (going up the hill between turn 6 and the corkscrew). Engine bits flew up and hit the car which is a bit distracting. And then there's the fact that I was full throttle through many liters of 10w-60 castrol synthetic oil. Poo may have come out. I was able to (barely) maintain control of the car and head to the pits... Fun times. I don't recommend it.

ZTK Caliper vs Essex AP9660 brake caliper.

The size is impressive for a factory 3 series caliper. Of course it can't compare to the AP in quality of construction, weight and performance but I was too curious not to put them side by side before I sell the AP's.

I'm looking at ordering a 340i, but I'm not sure if I should get this package. I've never tracked a car before, but I think it would be a lot of fun and plan to try it out with this one. However, it's likely that I'll be driving over some bad roads and some dirt/gravely roads sometimes. Is this package something I should get or will I not really benefit from it since I'm a noob to tracking? If I do get it, is there a good cover for it that will let me ride in peace? Does it lower the ground clearance?

For me, the main benefit is getting the staggered wheels and high-performance (Michelin PS4S) summer tires. The slightly larger rotors are not as huge a deal and can interfere with a space-saver spare wheel. Lastly, the extra oil cooling radiator under the front bumper can also be problematic - you can read more in this very thread about it. There's not any less ground clearance, but the radiator doesn't get much protection. For a few days tracking, I wouldn't get it TBH. I would just get the staggered wheels and tires.
