The AC Schnitzer 99d generates only 99g/km CO2 – that’s less than any standard BMW vehicle available at present.
And despite this, driving pleasure is guaranteed thanks to 190 HP / 140 kW. The 99d accelerates from 0 – 100 in an electrifying 6.9 s and has a top speed of 235 km/h – a vehicle with all the sporting genes, in fact a true AC Schnitzer. And with a fuel consumption of just 3.8 litres diesel per 100 km.
So how does this Concept Car by AC Schnitzer manage to achieve such low figures?
AC Schnitzer calls the combination of features Efficient Performance.
“Pleasure is the driving force!“ That applies not only to the BMW engineers but also – and in particular – to the tuning specialists at … CONTINUED
With the new BMW 5-series saloon and the new BMW 5-series Touring, in 2011 two new 5-series models have been awarded the prestigious iF Award for outstanding product design. Equally prizeworthy is the AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Saloon based on the BMW 5-series saloon, which celebrates its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show from 3rd to 13th March.
With this concept vehicle, the Aachen-based tuning specialist AC Schnitzer is demonstrating new and unusual aspects of driving pleasure. With a performance upgrade from 407 to 540 HP, the AC Schnitzer engineers are pushing the boundaries of the possible – for greater dynamics and efficiency. The driving performance is at thoroughbred sportscar level: the sprint from 0 – 100 kph takes just 4.5 seconds, and the top speed … CONTINUED
While touring the Geneva autoshow, you come across all sorts of BMWs, not just the OEM products BMW has on display, but a whole array of cars from aftermarket tuners. Here is the Lumma CLR X650, based on the BMW X6.
The massive bodykit widens the SUV by 5 cm on each side with an accompanying front bumper that means business. Carbon fibre is on tap a plenty to give the pure aftermarket look to BMW’s most sporty SUV. In the end, this isn’t my cup of tea, but the desired effect was accomplished as the SUV certainly stands out among the pack.
The F12 6-series Individual Program is making its public debut at the 2011 Geneva autoshow. On display in the BMW exhibit is a stunning Transite Blue Metallic 650i Individual equipped with Aluminum Satinated Trim, BMW Individual rear lettering, optional 20″ wheels. Its interior features piano black trim with full fine-grain leather merino leather seats, center console, door trim, and instrument paneling, in opal white color.
After seeing the 1M at Geneva, to our surpirse we got to see the new Vision ConnectedDrive Concept. No doubt, BMW will have a huge intro for this car at the official Press Event in Geneva tommorow, but for now we got a few photos of the car while they prep the car and stand.
The car looks amazing in person, the stance and color really work in the show car atmosphere, and no doubt this car will be a hit at Geneva. And to that extent, BMW has really put alot of effort into this car, they have setup a very large stand area for the car, with the car sitting on a rotating stand and truly massive LCD displays in the background. You can see … CONTINUED
We have touched down in Geneva and took a stroll around the booths. The official press annoucements from BMW aren’t until tommorow, but we did manage to get some photos of a beautiful 1M in Alpine White minding its own business. The car is still ‘semi’ wrapped up, with a clear plastic protective wrap over the roundel, the front grills and the wheels.
What I can tell you about Alpine White compared to the Vallencia Orange that BMW has been showing off at other major autoshows is that this color really is alot more subdued in person. Subdued in a good or bad way depending on your outlook. The color is alot more manageable for a daily driver and simply won’t get the same instant attention as … CONTINUED
A beautiful silver X3 M-sport currently on display at the 2011 Chicago Autoshow represents the first time that the X3 M-sport has been displayed at a U.S. autoshow and first time that BMW has shown a silver X3 M-sport. Photos inside.
The valencia orange 1M coupe continues to make its rounds at the U.S. autoshows, this time on display at the 2011 Chicago Autoshow which kicked off yesterday. Although the valencia orange 1M has already been photographed often, these are the first photos showing the 1M coupe’s full undercarriage (by use of a full length under-mirror).
Confirming the importance of the Chinese market to BMW, the F10 M5 Concept Car will debut at the Shanghai Autoshow in April, rather than at the Geneva show where it was originally intended to be debuted. Geneva will instead feature the debut of the BMW Connected Drive Roadster Concept.
The first details of the M5 production car will be launched in mid-summer and the
production F10 M5 will be shown at the IAA Frankfurt for it’s World public Premiere. US Public Premiere will be at the LA Autoshow in November.
