Hey guys found this at Inside Line. This basically confirms what some of my Plant contacts have been saying for the last 18 months or so.BMW is very seriously considering building a large number of 3 Series at the BMW Plant in South Carolina. There is plenty of room to expand even after the X3 begins production in 2010.The weak US dollar is killing BMW on everything they import from Europe to the US.Ill keep you posted. Thanks! Always first on the scene is Alpina with full range modifications to the newest BMWs. And it looks like Alpina is hard at work with an upgraded high performance version of the F01 7 Series which is sure to fill the expectation of those customers hoping for an M version of the car to take on the likes of the AMG S Class

BMW is currently developing a F5 / V5 based on the upcoming F10 5-series. Its best described as an MPV, but unlike the current Touring models the new cars will feature a taller ride-height and high roof to maximize interior space.

Here are some pics and vids of the X6 M testing here in SC.I apologize up front for some of these pics…I was moving around trying some different vantage points….some better than others.Ive got to upgrade to a camcorder…this camera vid sucks. This X6 looks a little futher along in development than the X6 M test mules just seen in the Desert this summer. If you look closely at the first pic of the X6 going in the gate….you can see they have put those quad exhaust in a nice looking production ready rear fascia/bumper.The big news was the exhaust note of the X6 M.It DID NOT sound like the 50i TTV8 that Ive heard many times at the PC Track. This engine today had a very high pitch exhaust note.OK…..Ill go ahead … CONTINUED

The Hydrogen Road Tour stopped at the SC BMW Plant for a couple of hours on Saturday (yesterday). The Hydrogen 7 was there along w/ hydrogen powered…..MB A Class,Hyundai Tucson,Kia Sportage,Toyota Highlander,VW Touran, and Nissan X-Trail.Shot alot of pics! Might need to do this in a couple of threads.Hydrogen seems to be a way to keep the internal combustion engine and break away from the Middle East oil.The Hydrogen 7 was running on hydrogen only. The range on all hydrogen power is 125+/- miles. The liquid hydrogen is stored at -418F degrees. You can see the vapor floating around. The guy in the green shirt and w/ the black mustache, fueling the Hydrogen 7, is Josef Kerscher, the President of the SC BMW Plant. Thanks! PalBay
