Unhappy LCI xdrive models - still no M Sport suspension

Hardly surprising...........

"M Sport suspension (excludes xDrive models)"

Oh well, Lorcan will be happy with the ongoing business.

Some other quite useful info here on LCI specs, facts, figures, options etc........

Didn't really expect m sport suspension on x drive. Will be interested to see how the SE suspension is this time around. Still waiting on first x drive LCI review.

It would appear BMW have always put stilts suspension on their xdrive models - even for E9x models (only available outside the UK).
As well as non 3 series cars.

So I guess that ain't gonna change now, just for the 3 series LCI xdrive.

There is talk of the next generation M5 to have an xdrive option. I bet that won't sit like its on stilts......

(well I hope not!).

Another thing I noticed from that PDF.....

"Enjoy the full range of BMW ConnectedDrive Services now with
optional 4G connectivity allowing over the air map updates"

Does that imply that 4G is a paid for option, even if you've paid for pro media?

Or maybe business nav is 3G for map updates and Pro media is 4G?

I believe someone said that you need to spec EBT to have the 4G connectivity, It may be implying to that

This is entirely logical.

The 335d is a diesel.

Diesel drivers drive like laydees.

Laydees don't drive quick.

QED

X drive only

The question is more, why don't they make a 335d Sdrive! Not being able to get the fastest 3 series with M Sport suspension and a decent drivetrain is crazy!

Yes, looking at the current online configurator, this appears to be the case; you appear to need pro media and enhanced Bluetooth to get 4G. I ordered my LCI before any significant info was available. The dealer configuration tool did not make it clear you needed enhanced Bluetooth to get 4G; I would have ordered it if I knew.

As my 3 yr old says... "You're so funny".....

PS How ironic, the man in our house drives the laydee diesel whilst the better fairer half drives the man's M235i. Funny old world, ay?

PPS Did anyone truly think that BMW was going to suddenly accept that people with xDrives wanted to drive? They've sold them fine so far so why change? Hell, they manage to sell sh*tloads of BMW's with substandard suspension all day long already because people naively think they are good. Ho hum.....

Isn't that what you get if you buy an Alpina?

No.

When you buy an Alpina you get a bespoke set up, far superior to BMW.

I'd love an Alpina at some point, but I know when I came to pull the trigger....... I'd buy an 'M' instead.

I do like how they've stuck to their guns on design over the years though with key characteristics still visible on recent models - coach striping, front lip spoiler, wheels etc.
