How to code Hot Climate S823A?
Hello guys
I have a F31 325d and my problem is that im not so satisfied with my Climate. 2 months ago my car got a Climate Service and everything is working fine. But it gets to hot inside my car. So i would like to try the Hot Climate Version For the coding procedure with esys is everything clear my only question is which ecu´s are affected when i add this VO? Best regards Johnny |

Changing the VO won't change the hardware that's different on the hot weather version. I bet the main reason your F31 gets hot is the size of the cabin and the area of the glass. There's not much you can do about the former, the latter can be improved upon with tinting, especially a ceramic tint.

I've read that the only difference between Hot Climate and Cold Climate vehicles is the actual coding. No hardware differences. Hot Climate is programmed to deliver the most amount of cold air through the central vents while closing the footwell and other vents. This is in attempt to cool cabin as efficiently/quickly ass possible.
It's worth a shot to try the coding. Hopefully someone will post here for you... Also, as mentioned above... a ceramic tint would also help greatly. |

I have read the same that the Hot Climate is pushing more cold air through the center vents and i hope that it gets colder in my car. Tinting is a good idea but i come from germany and it is not allowed to tint the front screen

My car apparently has both hot and cold climate.
Is it the little wheel I have above my phone mount with the blue and red arrows? It does seem to change the incoming air temp some

Hot climate version is mostly hardware for the engine and brake cooling. The radiators are bigger, the cooling hoses are different, the coolant capacity is larger (9 liters vs 8 liters) and the thermostats are different to open and close to operate the fan at different temperatures, also, the exterior fan is of larger power rating 600W vs less than 600W.
Cold climate version, would have the seat and steering wheel heating. My F30 has only hot climate version. The logic for blowing air from the vents is based on the set temperature, you can try and override the setting by manually controlling which vents blow the air from the air conditioning control panel, try to tell the difference first. The wheel with blue and red in the middle is for upper body temperature control (mainly the forward vents). Make sure they're all the way blue front and rear, as they override the temperature setting. |
