"Leather" definitions and grades

Interesting article. Certainly doesn't make me feel bad about cheaping out on getting Sensatec over Dakota leather in the least!

Just for clarity, though Dakota/Nevada/Montana/Boston leathers are "corrected" grain leathers they are still a Top Grain leather, which is one of the highest grades of leather.

All I know is that the Dakota leather looks, feels, and smells fantastic. And makes the "leather" in our Honda look like 1970's vinyl.

The leather on my seats (Dakota) isn't a patch on the equivalent Audi leather for looks and feel, but I will say I think the seats are more comfortable

Personally I prefer BMW Dakoda. I lived with it for 3 years in a 2011 E90. When I returned it it still had new leather smell. No kidding, it still looked new as well.

I can't say the same with Lexis and Mercedes leather. I got no experience with Audi.

With all that said, I like he's latest leatherette the best and prefer the money in my portifolio.
