Surround View versions
Hi friends of the forum,
My 04/2014 car has this version of the surround view (I call it the shitty one) : And this is an Image of an 2014 X5 (I call it the nice one) : I have seen this new version in the new X4, X6 and new 7 series (maybe even the 4 series have it, i dont know). The question is does a 2015/2016 5 or 6 series comes with the shitty one or the good one? What is the criteria here? Thank all for the inputs ; ) |

Thats why im asking. If all these cars share the same Idrive why the hell 3,4,5 and 6 series have crappy cameras/270 degres when the X models (and new 7 series) have these really nice cameras with 360 degres and NO BLACK LINES?! I give you an example my car is a 04/2014 and an 09/2013 X4 already has the 360 degrees version. If we mount a front camera can we retrofit this? Thank you |

Congratulations for you on renting a 7 series. Quite an amazing feat.
The NEW 7 series that in talking about doesn't have (yet) a 50d version so you were driving the older model. |

My 2016 X5 has the new "non shitty" surround view. I think it's for the ones with the camera in the front of the car too.
It looks nicer, but trust me your "shitty" surround view is much easier to read. The newer version is a bit more difficult to read, and the far corners of the camera get slightly distorted when you pass by objects. |
