Possibly Purchasing a demonstrator - What to look for?
Hello All,
I'm interested in purchasing a F30 - 2016 330i that is a demonstrator model, currently I have just had a look at it, but looking to test drive it next week. Is there anything I should be looking for or ask about in the demonstrator vehicle before purchasing? Less than 3000 KM Driven. Last edited by Noble-; 02-26-2017 at 05:08 AM.. |

Find out when the warranty ends. Is it CPO? If not ask them if it is eligible for CPO. If not ask why. Ask them if the car has had any repairs or accidents. Look at the Carfax. Check all warning indicators. (when I picked up my F32 the oil change light was on) Look for any defects outside/inside and if you find any tell them you want it fixed before you buy. Take a long test drive and make sure to get it up to highway speeds and check for squeaks and air leakage noises. Good luck.

Check the paintwork carefully, especially front bumper, bonnet and front doors for stone chips
If you find any damage, take photos of where it is and get the dealer to agree to fix it before purchase I've done this on all the demonstrators I've bought Do the same with the alloys as well and get them to agree to fix them if they're damaged Electricals and mechanicals covered by AUC warranty so peace of mind there

Definitely find out when the warranty was punched. Frankly, with 3000 KM, it's pretty unlikely that anything is wrong. I'd buy that car sight unseen with that mileage cuz you're basically buying a brand new car. But if you're local, drive it and give it a once-over. Minor cosmetic damage will probably be on you; it's a used car after all. If you have a code reader, hook it up and check for code faults.

In the U.S. demonstrators are used for no more than three months or 5,000 miles and their warranty is automatically extended by that amount.
