Sticky knob
The idrive controller on my car feels sticky, tried giving it a clean but I suspect that the rubber ring around it has just aged, so short of replacing it does anybody have a fix?
In terms of fixing, does the entire controller need to be replaced or can just the rubber ring be replaced? |

OK stop giggling like a 7yo boy at sticky knob...
I used this stuff. nextzett 92470515 Cockpit Premium. This might work as well: nextzett 92441015 Plastic Deep Cleaner

I had the same issue with rubber degradation on a home speaker box. I scrubbed it with a paste of baking soda and cleanser, like Ajax, mixed in a little water. The stickiness came off after a lot of scrubbing and hasn’t come back.
