M3 for sure!!!
Good evening all,
Coming to you from Seattle! Currently in the process of lemon lawing my unfortunately 2010 Infiniti G37S 6MT; a year and half of dealership visits for the same clutch pressure loss issue is enough. I've searched high and low for my next potential car, and after looking at everything from the B8 S4, right down to the main competitors - IS F and C63 AMG, I've all in all come back, once again, to the d92 M3. Not entirely sure what turned me off the initial time when I looked at purchasing one, but I'm back for good! As I've never purchased an $80,000+ vehicle before, I'm looking for tips and tricks. Will likely be purchasing from BMW of Seattle, but BMW of Bellevue is also a possibility. I've considered the prospect of buying one used as well - but with the fact that the M3 is a performance car, I'd imagine very few owners driving it "nicely." That and the initial hit $$$ after driving off the lot, immediately...phew . Despite, I've been able to negotiate all my previous cars to below invoice - is that even a possibility with the M3? Or is it a luxury brand that requires coming in, and handing the dealership a check for MSRP? Dos and don'ts would also be appreciated with pre- and post- ownership of the M3 as well. Looking for 6MT exclusively. Thanks fellas for your time! By the way, BOY are aftermarket bits expensive for this car; I suppose you gotta pay to play though, ha'. Will likely do simple bolt-ons as well. Anyone tune CORRECTLY in the PNW? Eric |

Depends on dealership and supply of available cars.
Prices are always negotiable. Best of luck! Now... go get the car and post pics!

I recently traded in my 2009 G37S for the M3. You won't regret it.
You can get the 2013 M3 for 600-1500 above invoice depending on the dealer. The 2012 will be below invoice right now. |

I'd recommend talking to Harvey at BMW NW (FIFE -Tacoma), they're great guys!!!
You'll find a lot of negative feedback about Bellevue...Google "BMW Bellevue" or ask around here.... |

Look into Performance Center Delivery and European Delivery. If I had a choice, I would have done it! I have only heard great things about both.

I bought my E92 M3 without a test drive and sight unseen, I just knew I had to have it. 3 years later I have no regrets on my decision. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

You're going to pay $80k for an M3? You do know that invoice is 8% off of MSRP...Euro Delivery invoice being 14% off of MSRP.
Don't get taken to the cleaners! |

Those kind of "ED Invoice" deals are no longer available, as BMW is forcing dealers to use their allocations for ///M ED deliveries.
I totally believe a loaded M3 can be $80K, after taxes, even with a slight discount of $1-2K off sticker. |

I spec'd out a car exactly like my own on the BMW website, and the MSRP was $76,345. Add $500 in training/MACO/registration + 6.25% Texas tax, and you're right at $82,000. If you consider that many dealers are only willing to knock off $1-2K from sticker, $80K is not at all ridiculous. |

Don't give up on used options. You obviously benefit from someone else taking the initial hit on depreciation and while I know we all fear the car was driven hard it does have a high tolerance for performance driving! Chances are if you find one that is very clean then you probably can assume the owner took good care of it and didn't abuse it. As long as you still have some factory warranty and get an extended warranty when that's up you should be good to go!

i'd think twice about dropping 80k on this car. it's not hard to find a nice used one with less than 10k miles in the 40k to 50k price range (i'd expect that you'd be able to find a 2010 for this amount of $).
once the next gen M3 comes out in 2 years, you'll have trouble getting 40k for your once 80k M3 - just look at what happened to the value of the E60 M5s once the F10 came out. seems like a tremendous waste of $ to me.

ED is no longer available and we have a shortage avail M3's in this market as is.... Plus Seattle has close to 10% tax on cars.... So if he manages to get a $70K M, he will end up paying $77K out the door. I probably had the right car for him with only 5K miles...... but I recently sold my car
