the rear offset for both style of rims are NOT sigificant to cause any issue whatsoever. (edited)

For tire size:
Front: 225/40/18
Rear: 255/35/18 (for both style)

As for the described aftermarket rim. I would go with 18 * 8.5 et 40 (closest to the oem offset) - all square. F&R tires 255/35/18. or F 245/35/18;R 255/35/18.

You meant "not significant" right? So can't do staggered with those aftermarket rims with the listed choices?

Since that aftermarket rim does not have a 18 * 8 ... you will be forced to select 18 * 8.5. In hindsight, I prefer not to use 18 * 8.5 for the front as the offset now getting into somewhat boderline posssibility that it will touch the front strut.

If you do end up with this wheel selection, for precaution purpose, I would suggest you add a 5mm spacer to the front to push out the wheel thus avoiding any interference with the strut.

The rear has no issue at all.

If you can take a look of VMR 710 style. You can select 18 * 8.5 et 35 ... in this case, the offset is only off by 7mm (less clearance to the strut) compared to the stock 18 * 8 et 34. To me, it is a better solution than the other style rim (18 * 8.5 et 40)

One of the stores you had messaged me about on the other forum suggested these sizes for VMR rims... does it make sense?

F: 18x8.5 - 5x120 - ET40
R: 18x9.5 - 5x120 - ET33

Actually, the VB3 rims do come in the following:

F & R: 18 * 8.5 et 35

http://www.vmrwheels.com/

It's probably the vendor has to order them while the above mentioned the vendor may have that sitting in the store and ready to be shipped/delivered.

Are those the specs I would be looking for if I decide to go for 19" VMR rims?

On this site http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw...179_wheel_1045 the OEM 19"s are Front alloy wheels: 19x8" ET37 and Rear alloy wheels: 19x9" ET39

Yes. Most bloggers with 19 chose that kind of setup. But since you are staying with 18", then that's why I suggested 35 offset would be ideal without any worry.

That British website has list for all the factory oem rims spec., as typical those are the offset you should be looking at.

Do you guys bother carrying a spare tire around? I'm thinking it'd take up a lot of space. Searching the Wheels and Tires forums, there is a wide range of opinions so I guess it'd be the same here
Apparently BMW Roadside Assistance would only tow you to the nearest BMW dealership (where they wouldn't replace your tire as it's not an OEM run flat)...

What about TPMS on after market rims, is it worthwhile?

btw, those 18" m oem wheels Joycity is selling...fyi, Maranello Bmw (Mike in parts) cleared out dozens and dozens of those wheels for $88 per rim just so you know... I believe joycity snatched up a lot of their stock before anyone else before any other maxbimmer members had a chance to get in on the deal. just an FYI.
