So either F32 (new era for the BMW coupe - 4 Series) or 1 GT (new era for the small BMW - FWD).

Or something else.

This is some intense teasing. When will the pain be over?

My guess is that it's the FWD 1-Series Active Tourer M-Sport.

I think the photograph shows the area between the front door drivers side and the left front wheel. I would say that it's the F30 M335d/i . However not sure of F30 given the fact that Scott said it's a new era. Then it must be 4 Coupe/Cabrio. But wheels look small for the 4 . When will the waiting be over

That's the brake/caliper/wheel option from the F30 M-sport, which stands to reason that an F32 could use the same set-up, at least for testing.

Those are the 19" M-sport wheels. Pretty big!

Open Minded = Open Top = Z4 sDrive M40i :

On a serious note Could it be open minded meaning open to 2/4 series instead of 1/3

Well, I am open minded about both new BMW product lines (4 series) and new BMW powertrains (FWD).*

But in all seriousness it is sounding more like the 1 GT. I am curious, if that is the case, to see how the front seam of the front door goes.

* But never mixed together!

I think it's the 4er. Like someone said, looks like the front left wheel (drivers side) and that black object looks to be that "L" mould (the fender) found on the 6er. And if you believe that the 4er renders were supposed to closely follow the 6er, it makes sense.
