So waaaay back on page 1, the initial set of information indicated 2 items that I'm curious about:
1) Short shifter for 6MT - Is it a: A) actual short-shift kit (i.e. change in the fulcrum point), B) shorter gear selector above the fulcrum point, or 3) just a different selector knob. 2) Suspension - Initially there was discussion that the adaptive suspension might be standard for the U.S. and/or the non-adaptive suspension would be firmer than the Sport Line. Clearly the adaptive suspension is still optional on U.S.-spec cars, but is there any difference between the non-adaptive suspensions on the Sport v. M-Sport? |

Sport and M Sport suspensions are identical, I don't know about the short shifter but the knob itself is definitely shorter than the standard one. Some BMWs like my 135i come standard with a short shift kit so I really hope this is the case with the M Sport but I forgot to ask my sales advisor when I ordered mine last Friday...oh well, I guess I'll find out once the car gets here. The only manual car they had on the lot was a 328i Sport Line so I drove that just to see if the changes to the manual transmission were noticeable and they definitely are! Shifts are smoother and at the same time have a more positive engagement. Tough to describe but it's definitely an improvement over the E90s and the E82 that I've had.

I have just ordered a 2013 F30 335i M-Sport Line in mineral gray over red dakota leather. I decided to go with the 8-speed automatic this time, and according to the BMWUSA website's "Build Your Own" feature, the M-Sport Line includes the M steering wheel with paddles, but apparently this is misleading. The paddles show up as an extra-cost item in the "Options" section. My bet is the website is wrong; however I'm getting them anyway. Anyone else run across this?

I searched but couldn't find anything on this: Has anyone had any success with getting an interior color like Oyster on the M Sport line?

Alcantara vs. leather
Has anybody got feedback on the cloth/alcantara combination vs leather? I like the look of the cloth/alcantara combination but I'm worried about durability and ease of care vs leather. Concerning comfort, I would imagine that the cloth/alcantara seats are mor comfortable than leather.
