Need help with E90 XI suspension question/advice

Sorry for the newbie question... recently bought a E90 XI for the wife... it is time to replace the shock/strut so I figure go all out. She is not going fast and furious but at times is a spirited commuter.

Normally I would go decent sub $1000 coilover primarily for adjustment... for this car 70% looks and 30% performance being it spend most of its life in commute.

Since I cannot seem to find any decent sub $1000 coilover for XI and even spring/strut combo will be close to $1000, I need your expertise.

1. is there any decent sub $1000 coilover that I overlooked?

2. as for Eibach "I" springs for "XI", does it matter if E91, E92, E93? Will they all fit on E90?

3. is there a difference with I and XI swaybar? H&R said they do not make E90 XI swaybar but I have seen advertisement claiming I will fit XI correctly.

4. If the coilover and spring/strut combo is the same price, what are pro/con for DD at same height? Does one dampener last longer due to design? Especially if both has lifetime warranty?

Any help is much appreciated... thank you in advance

1. take a look at h&r street and kwv1 and pm vendors here for the best price.

2. on an e90 run e90/92. e91/93 weights are different

3. rear bar is the same. as are all rear suspension components. front is different.

4. a spring/strut combo allows you to pair components that will work very well together. sub-1k coilovers, on the other hand, may be lacking (performance-wise) or better. depends on the setup of course. with coilovers you get adjustability. as long as you get parts that have warranties, i wouldn't be too concerned.

1. Is there any XI coilover deal sub-$1000? Best I saw so far is H&R coilover for $1200, is there anything cheaper? Group buy, forum deal, etc? I need it with warranty.

2. to be clear, fitment is same but spring rate is diff due to diff weight... correct? So if E90/92 use E91/93 coil, it likely will sit higher or have funny rake... correct?

3. Is there any front swaybar option for E90 XI other then UUC?

4. example: 1) Eibach(H&R)/Koni(Bilstein) Sport = $900-1000 and 2) H&R Coilover = $1200... is there any pro to getting option 1 over 2 other then money?

1. As others noted above, PM the sponsors on the forum. KW V1 should come in at $1200 +/- as well.
2. Spring rate may vary due to different including engine (N52 vs. N55/N54, etc.), transmission, (MT vs AT), but then again maybe not.
3. Only one I was able to find is the UUC. You probably want to do both front and rear, and not just the front.
4. Adjustable dampening on Koni Sport. BTW, there is no "XI" specific springs from Eibach. They only have "I" springs. Nice springs but too much drop for me. You may want to investigate drop vs. comfort of the various springs before investing the money.

Cheers.
