New Wheels- Slight Rubbing Issue
Hello all,
I installed my new 19" Doss FF1 wheels today. The tires I chose were 245/35 up front and 285/35 in back. It is a very meaty setup, and as a result I experience a tiny bit of rubbing on the rear fenders in hard corners in comfort mode. Does anybody recommend a cheap and easy way to combat this issue? I'm leaning towards either spacers or aftermarket springs, but I'm not sure if either would get the job done. Thanks! |

Why would you run such wide tires on the rear? You're adding rolling resistance and making the car slower, not to mention more expensive tires.

spacers or lowering the car will exacerbate the problem. you're rear tire size should've been 285/30/19. if you're keeping the rear tires you'll have to add negative camber |

We need to know the wheel offset and width. But you’re probably rubbing on the outside edge of tire with fender so you need to go down a tire size maybe 275/35. Are you lowered too?

245/275 would have been the better choice IMO. Spacers and lowering it will make the rubbing worse as you'll move the wheel out more with spacers and decrease the room with lowering. 19x9.5 et35 with a 285. that will never fit under the car without fender work. I have no idea how much hub material there is but some people have machined the backside of the hub to increase the et.
On a positive side, those wheels look fantastic on your car!

I don't understand .. your rear tires are over a full inch taller than your fronts. 285/30/19 or even 275/30/19 would be about the same height and a much more sensible choice.
You're going to permanently hack at a 50/60k car because you bought the wrong tires? [I mean that in the most constructive way possible... Hope your body shop is good] https://tiresize.com/calculator/ Last edited by B58 parts; 12-29-2017 at 12:28 AM.. |

Don't roll the fenders. The performance oriented choice would have been 235/40 19 in front and 265/35 19 in rear. More rubber but not overkill.
With 285 in rear you're do nothing but making the car understeer more and adding rotating mass
