Exhaust drone
Hi
I'm an old member, been away from forums and all but came again I have bought the car with this setup already installed ( Borla Axle back + custom x-pipe + test pipes + secondary catts delete) and the car has no tune. Exhaust Setup looks like this I love the sound and all but its causing too much drone when cruising around and on cold starts. So I said I must do something about it to reduce this mad drone. Sadly previous owner sold all his stock exhaust, so I went to a local shop and he suggested to install what he called "drone killer" it looks like this. First when I looked at it I didn't find it right, i find it too restricted, but that mechanic tried to convince its not, so I went ahead and installed it. I drove with the car and it somewhat killed the drone + it killed some horsepower with it. I've showed my setup to one of my friend and he suggested to take it off straight away, he said its too dangerous, its causing too much back pressure, and u may break your engine. So my question to you all is this right?? or should i go with some other resonators, any suggestions for resonators or other mod to kill the drone is welcome. Thanks

Why not buy a new x pipe with some resonators? That would of been the better route to go than that. Might as well as to shove a banana up the tail pipe as that's what it looks like.

1st, remove whatever that drone deleter is.
2nd, it wont matter what you do unless you get rid of that muffler, I can't say for sure but that looks like borla's s-type axle back which is notorious for SERIOUS drone on this car. I have the borla atak (very different muffler design) and have hardly any drone. Again not for sure, its either borla's s-type or touring muffler, either way, the atak is the only muffler reported to not drone from borla. So your issue is with the muffler, swap it or deal with the drone. A set of resonators before the X might help, but alot of drone comes from the muffler design.
