here is what my CA sent me about the service in germany: From day of delivery you have 4 years or 50000 miles bumper/bumper warranty in the US. In Germany unlimited 24 months. The maintenance free 3 years or 36000 miles is only valid in the US . Only the M-3 has a 1200 mile service due. You can provide the oil (special oil for the M-3 !!) and you pay for the Oil and Air filter and labour. Approx. 100 euros if you provide the oil. Thereafter it is only every 15000 miles due. You can bring the M-3 to the dealership here in Ansbach or Bad Windsheim and we will provide a loaner.
I dont know if you know that Shipping is now included in all BMW prices.

so, whoever paid 450 euros that sounds bit high. but i'm not sure how much the oil is going to cost.

In the US the free maintenance is same as the warranty, 4/50k. The 1,200 mile service also includes tranny & diff. fluid changes. In the US the tranny fluid is around $40 or 50 alone. Assuming fluids and air filter are the same in Euros as we pay in dollars, you're looking at probably €200, so that's $318 + labor and it's not a stretch to $450.

In this thread:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134122

A guy claims he will get reimbursed for the M3 service by BMW USA. I am skeptical, but it does not sound out of the realm of possibility. Worth looking into I'd say.

thanks mkoesel, i saw that one already though. i am a bit skeptical about this too, but my situation is a bit different because i'm not doing ED. i'm a european military sales customer. who knows though...maybe whenever i finally get back to the states and register my car with BMW NA they will reimburse me for the service. I'll certainly keep my receipt just in case.
