http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=504040 That's the way to do an lci conversion from pre-lci. This car won COTM twice.

Yep, all the mounting holes are the same on the top. I think only 2 or 3 holes line up on the bottom with the plastic shield but, thats all you need, the shield is not going to move and the bumper isnt moving either because its bolted up on top.
There are two ways to make the grills work, you can separate the outer trim from the grills and only install the fins like i did OR you can install the whole LCI grill and cut off the top part. |

I would but I dont even have time to work on my own car, its looking like a mess right now. Any paint/body shop can put it on, its straight forward, expect $3-400. I had mine painted at impressive when they had their bumper special.

John didnt know either. I dropped the bumpers off for paint and i told him to put it on and it went on so smoothly he didnt even know it was an lci conversion. I never told him i was doing lci mtech because I knew it would work, so he probably thought it was a regular mtech. show him the pic, he'll know my car

on e92...no. Tried. The problem is the headlight arm (the black piece under headlight) on the lci the arm drops down lower than the pre-lci. Not a problem right. They are pretty cheap. Well BMW thought it would be funny to change the mounting points on the arm for the headlight. So if you want to do the conversion ya gotta buy the lights.

yes, the mounting holes are the same, only difference is the grills, but as you can see, there are ways around it. you can test fit it like i did...
