Any thoughts on MPPSK burbles with a catted downpipe? I seen some posts on the forums of cats being melted with burble settings milder than OTS (bm3, mhd).

They are designed to work with the stock cat. No problem whatsoever. There is not a single report (I have seen) about MPPSK damaging a cat. Don't worry about it.

The cats you have seen melted were 1. Very low quality and/or 2. not melted from lower settings, just the opposite

Sorry for slow response, others have answered your question so I won't repeat. I too had mine installed at Minnetonka. The only time mine get's under 2K rpm's is at a stop light .. with the start/stop enabled.

Some of you have probably already seen this: https://www.thedrive.com/news/44328/...f-its-too-loud

I've also read about people getting ticketed in California with stock M3/M4s (California State law apparently prohibits any exhaust systems that allow bypassing the muffler with a valve; how are they even sell cars over there?).

I checked with the Parts Manager at my dealership and asked for documentation showing that the MPPSK exhaust was in compliance with US Federal and State regulations, but I haven't heard back yet. It has been couple of weeks already. I asked the BMW NA, and they replied back with a generic irrelevant reply. I checked with the Parts manager again yesterday, so let see...

Does anyone know where I can find that document?

I can provide the official German Teilegutachten document for the MPPSK which is used for registration of the product in the national roadworthiness approval and which states that neither gas nor noise emissions are affected by the product and the vehicle is still within it's type-approved noise emission range.

I have no idea if it will help you in the states, but this is the document used throughout Europe to formally approve and register the installation.

Thanks a lot Skyhigh. If it is in English that will definitely help. You would expect BMW NA to provide that document with the installation.

Actually regardless, could you share it with me? At least I can request the same document for the US (either translated or adapted).

Anyone else enjoying driving their car recently with the windows down in sport mode? Seems like that's all I have been doing the past week and it has made me want to keep my car for now! (also the price of M3's and X5M's are helping the reason why too) lol.

Now its on to find a good set of coilovers that aren't too pricey. Got the new wheels picked out and tires.

Yeah Chicago is warm enough to do that for the last couple of days (around 60 degrees Fahrenheit right now!). Honestly, if I didn't have the MPPSK I would probably change my car. Now it feels like a completely new car and I really like to drive it. "Unfortunately" I will have to drive it in the next hour or so to run some errands. And "unfortunately" I will have to drive underneath a long stretch of underpass although that adds more miles to my drive. I want to enjoy the sound as much as I can before I switch to an EV.

Which wheels did you get? I don't touch the stock ones because potholes are crazy around here.

Finally got around to ordering my MPPSK , was kinda thinking that with everything going on , parts would be on back order for weeks/months. Dealer said parts are available from the warehouse and I have my install scheduled in 8 days.

Now...still deciding on coilovers...might be ST-XA.

I defiantly didn't get a deal, basically list price... parts @$3300 (that's with stainless tips and 8.75% NYS tax). Kinda hurts when there's only 1 BMW dealer in town.

Was told 2.5 hrs install, so in the end somewhere between $3800-$3900.

Congrats! I paid around $3750 installed but after getting another quote from another dealer. I negotiated with the first dealer showing the getbmwparts.com price. Then I used their quote to negotiate with my local dealer. I don't think you're overpaying considering COVID prices. You must be really excited about it. Enjoy

Mine was scheduled for like 15 days after the parts had arrived (maybe even more). I kept calling them and managed to get it installed in 2 days

Curious to how long it actually took for the dealer to do the "tune" portion of the MPPSK package. I was quoted 1.5 hrs.

Asking because I just got a call from the dealer telling me they are worried they won't have the 'Tune" completed today, and may need to keep my car over night.(there is about 3 hrs left before this shop closes for the day and the car was dropped off 6 hrs ago..).
