Key buttons don’t unlock/lock when hot outside

I have a 2012 e91 with comfort access and now that it’s warming up here in California, I notice that the key doesn’t lock or unlock when the car has been sitting outside in the sun. I have to use the key blade to get the car open. And once inside the car still doesn’t recognize my key, I have to stick the key in the slot in order to get the car started. I have already replaced the battery in the car as well as in the key fob. Anyone ever experience this??

Diversity antenna or connections to it might be and area to investigate.
You have checked and measured your main battery voltage I hope.

I’ll definitely have to check on that antenna and connections. But the battery in the car is less than a month old as well as the battery in the key. I used BimmerLink to register the battery too

Unless you measure your battery voltage you just don't know .
Doesn't matter if it's new.
Did you install the right type and size and did you register or program
the battery. Better do a sanity check on it especially since it was changed
right before you started having problems.

I replaced the battery because of that issue. But I’ll be sure to measure voltage and report back
