2015 F30/N20 328i Exhaust Upgrade
I recently purchased a Borla S-Type catback exhaust (part no. 140509) for my 2015 328i.
https://www.borla.com/products/bmw-3...-system-140509 Took the old exhaust off then noticed the front pipe hanger location is not even close to where Borla has the piece welded. There's a good 6 or 8 inch difference between my stock pipe and the Borla (pics attached). I have returned it for a refund as it seemed to be a welding defect, but now I'm wondering if there's just something different about the exhaust config for my car vs other F30/N20/328i models that are not year 2015 as a parts diagram for my car online seems to match more closely with the weld position on the Borla. Borla's site states this catback is compatible with models 2012-2016. They also state it will NOT fit an N26 SULEV, but mine is an N20 ULEV. Anyone experienced this or a similar issue? not sure about the fitment but the borla mid-pipe looks smaller diameter than the OEM mid-pipe anyhow.
get REMUS or AWE you may even want to just do an axle back, since exhausts provide little gain anyhow. for gain in performance get an active autowerke catted downpipe |

Thank you alohasurftoad. I did notice that it's smaller diameter. I am primarily wanting a better sound. I'm open to Remus, AWE, or whatever. Just want it to sound good and fit right.
