Hey shawn,

got a problem with my EVO ID6, got all the possible subscriptions active (S6AK) and when I try to connect the phone with the apps section in my vehicle nothing happens it just connects with a bluetooth connection and I only get audio and phone compatabity.
All the remote services with the MyBMW app work, I can lock/unlock the car, check the location of the car, can take pictures with 360° cameras and so on.
Do I need to activate the apps section somehow how does it work?

What Apps are you looking for?

Are you looking under Connected Drive => Vehicle Apps or under Manage Mobile Devices => Phone => and making Checkbox for Apps?

The Checkbox for Apps under Manage Mobile Devices => Phone is not it. That is for use with the now discontinued ConnectedDrive Phone App, which was replaced with the myBMW App, which has no Apps.

Under Connected Drive, you should see Vehicle Apps at the bottom. Not sure why you have nothing, but there is nothing there worth a damn (e.g. Wiki Local, Yelp, Flickr, and BMW Info).

Since you are using an Android device, you can try AAIdrive:

AAIDrive is the thing I wan't to use, the problem is, it launches on the phone the moment it connects to car via bluetooth, but the AAIdrive does not connect to the car. It says ready to connect to car apps but nothing happens. I don't get any notification on the iDrive itself, car doesnt get the spotify app in the media playback screen.

Message AAIdrive developer, because as I understand it, it should work with 9C FSC Code and 6NR Coding, or in your case, with 6AK ConnectedDrive Services.

Don't know what was the problem, but AAidrive connected and started working, once I started the car this morning....

Behold, the AAIdrive developer has been summoned from his basement!
MyBMW does not add any apps by itself, that is true. However, MyBMW is still responsible for filling in the Mobile Devices > Phone > Apps checkbox. In fact, MyBMW will still fill in this Apps box even if AAIdrive isn't installed. AAIdrive starts up when it sees the Bluetooth connection to the car, and then it watches for MyBMW to establish the Apps connection, through which it adds its Mobile Apps to the car.

Your video showed the Pairing > Apps option, which means the subscription or coding option is correctly in effect. Your Mobile Devices > Apps checkbox was missing, and from what I've heard recently, that may be due to MyBMW not running at the time when the pairing was added. You say it added the checkbox later automatically, without needing to unpair and re-pair? That's good to know! We're still trying to figure out why the car sometimes doesn't show the box and sometimes adds it later.

Hi Shawn, I own a 10/2012 F11 with early NBT HU, I understand that Connected Drive is usless, but i read this whole thread and saw the AAIdrive solution, my VO and VIN are:

As for AAIdrive, it only works on Android, while 2012 cars only support apps from iPhone. The apps protocol is the same, but the USB serial connection is different and I believe there's a different cert too.

BMW Live offers via the customer telephone an infotainment service for customers without a permanently installed SIM card (telematics unit) or in markets with no telematics ranges. The optional equipment BMW Live (option 6AL) is available for vehicles with telephony without telematics (option 6NH and 6NK) in conjunction with the headunits Professional radio (option 663), Business navigation (option 606) or Professional navigation (option 609).

The screen display is based on the BMW Online interface. The basic services provided by BMW Live are:

News via RSS feeds
Weather
Google local search
Panoramio
Street View.

The service is communicated via the customer's SIM card. A cellular radio agreement with data transfer is required to be able to use the service. The customer must register with an e-mail address to be able to use all the functions of the BMW Live service. Some of the functions can also be used without registration.

Yes, but hufman said that 2012 cars (such as mine) will accept only iphone apps, wich is as I understand required to run AAIdrive.
