Reminder! When doing ED, bring a good camera along!

The cell phone pics are terrible! Mostly self-reminder.

you just really upped the ante here. are you sure you'd even accept a 1080p HD camcorder? maybe we should just bring a Pro HD filming rig? haha

I was thinking of commissioning a sculptor to come capture the moment in stone, and perhaps a painter to memorialize the moment in beautiful oils.

ED or not, the phone camera pics suck in general. The iPhone 4 takes pretty good pics but it will still be a couple years before most of the phone camera will be forum post worthy.

The problem isn't so much the cameras. The problem is the operators. Most camera phones can't handle mild camera shake. You really need to brace the camera by resting your arm on something to reduce camera shake. Most consumers don't understand how cameras function so they don't know how to produce a decent image.

From the photos, it looks like the Welt isn't very well lit so most automatic cameras are going to drop the shutter speed a lot to get a properly exposed photo. That means the slightest movements while pulling the shutter = blur.

There are a couple darker spots but the Welt is fairly well lit. Especially where you take delivery of your car. There's lots of ambient light with all those windows. Any half way decent point and shoot will take decent pictures there.

i'm doing a european delivery in early december. I'm going to take both a DSLR and a point and shoot (and of course my sculptor and painter) and put up pics with both. Of course the DSLR will look better... but i don't think it will look THAT much better. We'll see soon.

The Welt is actually very well lit. I was lucky enough to have the rare Munich sun out that day too. Even if there isn't sunlight, there are a lot of spotlights on your car so the shutter speed shouldn't have to drop.
