Yeah. Factory reset did the trick. My previous update attempts were made without KSW tools and factory reset. I installed KSW tools recently, like 2 days ago to check what's there etc. So... I've prepared a 16Gb USB(FAT32) drive with all key updates for A12. Also, prepared some stuff to downgrade to A11(in case of any bad attempt) and start from scratch. Right after factory reset the first update went successfully. Here is my path: A12_1.0.7Nexai -> factory reset!!! -> update to 1.2.0 non-nexai -- OK update mcu from 220920G -> 230913G -- OK Then Attempt to update to 1.2.1Nexai - OK MCU update - the same version - OK Attempt to update to 1.4.4Nexai - OK MCU update - no upgrade found Attempt to update to 1.5.6Nexai - OK MCU update - the same version - OK A13 Attempt to update A12_1.5.6 to A13_1.1.3 - OK MCU update - the same version - OK Attempt to update to A13_1.4.0 - ОК MCU update - the same version - OK Attempt to update to A13_1.5.5 - In progress... One thing that I noticed on A12_1.5.6 is that the steering wheel buttons Next/Previous acts in reverse, ArrowUp - previous song, ArrowDown - next song. subject to investigate. PS1. The boot logo and boot animation were not affected by the update procedure PS2. You can put all updates to any folder and then just copy/paste the desired update file to the root of the USB. And not to plug/unplug your USB stick just restart the device. |

Both of them are A13 and have API 33. I could assume that it's a minor release and can be installed to have the "latest" digits only on the sysinfo screen In addition to my previous post - today I successfully installed 1.5.5 over 1.4.0. so I can confirm that the .zip is OK. as for A13, I noticed that 4G is starting 5-10 seconds later than it was on A12. My YT Music reports to me "Looks like offline". |

Hi all, has anyone of you got working any Tasker task while using Zlink5? I remapped the NAV button to call a task with KSW Toolkit, the task is working perfectly in any other situation, but it isn't when Zlink5 is in the foreground. Please, help me if possible.

The main feature of the launcher is the ability to display one or two applications on the home screen at the same time, changing their size and scale. https://t.me/carcarlauncher

It works perfectly. Without brakes. The download is fast. I am currently using it as an addition to the main launcher, for programs in split screen mode - it is ideal, when switching to other applications, going back works perfectly. At the same time, he is also friends with Carplay/Autokit. At the moment, I can say must have. Convenient and practical.
First, you can create presets on the screen It is possible to have two screens on the screen, where you can make preset sizes from 50/50 to 70/30 You can adjust the percentage (larger or smaller) of the map scale in each window, and so on. Regular automatic updates and additions Chic minimalism with a combination of maximum possibilities It is very convenient when navigation is 70% on the driver's side of the screen, and 30% on the right (for example, Yandex Music, and you can go to any application with one swipe and launch it in one of the screens without going to the general menu, without unnecessary gestures. This is cool! Car launcher works very fast and has an instant response, which was very pleasantly surprised It's also amazing that you can put it in one of the windows!!! Another launcher! It's a shock! And have two in one, three in one! And they are "friends"! There is not enough space to describe all the advantages and advantages. Just take it, put it on and use it! And you won't go back to the past! Instruction manual https://telegra.ph/Instrukciya-po-na...Launcher-07-05 Last edited by Shamanix; 03-28-2024 at 09:40 AM.. |

USB hubs & USB sockets in armrest compartment
Here is how I dealt with my USB ports in my E71.
Passenger Footwell The 2 cables carrying the USB ports were redirected down the passenger footwell. (I did the same with the audio out cable from the HU harness, even though I am not using it atm. I tucked it away.) I removed the cover on the passenger side. There is a large fabric acoustic pad on the underside of this cover. I used fabric glue to glue 5 strips of velcro (soft/loops) every few centimeters. I left it to dry for a day. Meanwhile I took my Anker hubs and stuck velcro (hard/hook) on their bottom side and velcro (soft/loop) on their top side and all round their sides. I made sure that the ports would point towards the passenger before sticking anything. I did the same with the Cyrus Soundkey - velcro (hard/hook) on the bottom. Then I took fabric tape and covered the Cyrus Soundkey top and sides. Finally using the same fabric tape I wrapped and tidied up the wires. The Soundkey connects to one of the 2 hubs. 2x USB 3.0 extension cables panel mount go to the armrest compartment (one connects to each hub). 1x Audio cable goes to the armrest compartment. Note: Get 2m USB extensions. I got 1m and they were too short, so I had to get extra extensions (to extend the extensions LOL) to complete the job. Note: Using velcro is a sure way of making the hardware stay in position, in an area where ample room exists but would otherwise remain unutilised. I did not want to lose any space anywhere else (e.g. my glove box). WARNING: If you need to detach your hardware from the velcro, push down on the fabric while lifting the hardware, otherwise you risk detaching the fabric padding's top layers! Armrest Compartment The compartment's front cover was removed and these holes were drilled: 1. 2x rectangular holes for the panel mounted USB extension cables 2. 1x circular hole for the audio cable (2 rubber grommets were used to pluck the hole with the wire going through them. The grommets are very flexible. I could not believe it when I managed to get the audio jack through the smaller grommet. The small fits within the larger one, sealing the hole) Note: Please remove the gear selector & iDrive controller to get all these cables though otherwise you will be wasting your time. Here are some photos. Last edited by conandrum; 03-28-2024 at 07:36 PM.. |

Hello, I bought a HU from Aliexpress and failed. I'll be returning it soon. I would like to know the best option out there. I'm aware of AvinUSA. Any other recommendations? Your help on this is highly appreciated. I don't want to end up buying another wrong unit.
P.S: I've tried to do some research and go through this forum, it just confused me more on what to go with :/ |

How to restore apps/settings etc after factory reset
Just a quick step by step on how to restore your apps/settings etc after a factory reset.
NOTE: you need to have Google Back up enabled and run it at least once for a backup to be available for restore. What can be restored: 1. Apps 2. Contacts 3. Device Settings (WiFi passwords & more) Not all settings are backed up / restored. e.g. I noticed that I had to specify settings for Google maps/assistant from scratch. Also even though apps are restored, their setttings aren't and have to be reconfigured. In any case, it saves you much valuable time. 1. You need a connection to the internet to proceed. 2. From Play store, download 'Activity Launcher' and open it. 3. Search for com.google.android.apps.pixelmigrate.migrate.compo nent.D2dWizardManager and launch it. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions and click 'Restore'. 5. You can follow the restore process from the Play store 'Manage Apps & Device' section under your profile. There you can see each app as it is being restored, by clicking on 'All apps up to date'. See photos: Last edited by conandrum; 03-29-2024 at 04:37 PM.. |

Last week I noticed that my reversing camera was not showing properly.
It had red colour everywhere and loads of distortion. It all started when I had to replace my original Android harness because it was not transfering audio correctly via the harness itself (audio would play on some speakers and when moving it around the sound would return). After replacing the harness I noticed this camera problem. In a similar way, the camera picture would sometimes return when the OEM harness was moved around. I removed the OEM quadlock connector from the Android harness and then removed the X13814 plug. I noticed that the pins were loose from the factory. I extended their locking mechanism and reinserted. I put things back together but the problem persisted. To cut a very long story, short, I unraveled the tape surrounding the RGB wire all the way to its root (8cm or so) and noticed that the white wire (GND) was severed and the black wire (SHIELD) was nearly cut too. These wires are soldered onto 2 separate layers of braided mesh wires surrounding the 3 RGB wires. Each layer of braided mesh is separated by non-conducting transparent film. These braided mesh wires are very thin and can become brittle at the solder joints. Moving the quadlock in, out and about had a detrimental efect on these joints. So I went ahead and soldered new wires with new pins to each layer and did the same for the RGB wires also. I used shrink tubing individually and another for all 5 wires and wrapped everything in fabric tape. I put every pin back in position and replaced the plug in the quadlock. When connected to the CCC, the camera finally worked properly. Unfortunately I only took a photo of one side of the X13814 plug before removing the black shield wire. So when I followed a diagram I found online, I place the shield wire into pin#12 instead of pin#11. Even so everything works properly, but I think I should replace it tomorrow ). ALWAYS TAKE PHOTOS!!! And always check your own wiring diagrams in ISTA - do not rely on online diagrams! Thanks @RedErik for helping out with the connection diagrams! Here are some photos! PS. Next afternoon, I just bit the bullet and moved the pin from #12 to #11. Took me about an hour from start to finish. see last photo Last edited by conandrum; 04-03-2024 at 03:54 PM.. |

Hey Shamanix. I have 2 questions:
1. I noticed it is a trial for 30 days. How do you buy this app? 2. I noticed that the system apps DTV & AUX do not appear in the list of apps. Can you ask the developer to add these 2 KSW apps to his list if possible? |
