Until know there was always a A10 and A11 update at pretty the same time, as they have the same root from the same developer the changelogs always did pretty fit for both.

To do seperate A11 update changelogs i would need an A11 headunit to pull the specific apk files from the system every time, as it will be decrypted when the update will be installed.
But i don't spend that much money for only doing changelogs

But sharing your file would help anyways as we have some people at discord who can try them out

PM is disabled for me as i would get too much requests for helping again

Normally we get them either with a link from here or sharing the link at discord.
Preferred method is to do a re-upload via wetransfer.com as the chinese then dont see many downloads of the file from their server.

We don`t have changelogs for newer files, i`ll upload 1.9.7 1.9.9 and 2.0.0 soon but at everyone's own risk.

Not been here long at all since picking up my F30 a couple weeks ago. Thank you for all the information here…! 👌🏻
My Droid 11 HU arrived with 1.8.6 installed and found it was rather buggy, so took the plunge with 2.0.0 as I didn't think it could get any worse. So far so good!! It's cleared up the Bluetooth connectivity which was the worst thing for me and a few other minor glitches. Including the default music app selection. It just wouldn't let me select Spotify… 🤦🏻
Hope this is of some help to someone! I can report back again after a week or so to see if I notice any bugs in the OS.

The file will be always overwritten, not appended.
The mylogo.zip has to contain all images, you replaced the original file with yours, you would need to recreate a new one that has the old and the new logos.

But I mean the import function doesn't work at all.
And the USB stick method, which is putting splash.img file in the OEM folder and connecting, also doesn't work
while bootanimation.zip can be changed by this method..

I forgot that this is tha A11 thread not the A10

The Bootlogo (splash) file format has been changed with A11, A10 splash files do not work here.
No one has reverse engineered the new file format yet, so for the moment its not possible to change splash files for A11 for us.

I found a small tip for changing "Car" icon in zlink carplay.
1. Root the device (Thanks to Kri https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=659)
2. Connect with adb command window
3. Replace the logo file /system/etc/exit.png
4. Change mod
5. Reboot

C:\BMW\KswRooting-master\compiler>adb connect 192.168.0.47:5555

restarting adbd as root

C:\BMW\KswRooting-master\compiler>adb remount
remount succeeded

bengal:/ # chmod 644 /system/etc/exit.png
bengal:/ # reboot

Now you can find the Car icon is changed.

Afaik no one is evaluating it at the moment.

I don`t have an A11 unit so i can't do it either

Do you have a working file from your seller to reverse engineer ?
I heard some sellers do offer a custom file.

We cannot work on these files. Each logo has to be signed with the same encryption key as the kernel. We would need to have the compiler for these images and the encryption key - something that Chinese will never share with us, and something that we cannot "reverse engineer" ourselves.

I know every encryption can be broken with enough of time and resources. But we are car enthusiasts here with various backgrounds and levels of IT skills. This task lands 11 on a 1-10 difficulty scale according to one Android developer. No one is willing to spend months trying to "reverse engineer" the mechanism of compiling some meaningless pictures - that's the reality of that.

I ended up ordering an Avin unit due to 1-day shipping (can’t beat that)

Installation is confusing as hell and not really clear.

Are the USB wires and AUX thing even mandatory to install?

I only installed basically the wiring harness and the 4G thing, didn’t install GPS because my car has nav already or the USB ports that connect to the screen.

Everything is working pretty good- except CarPlay and audio when in android mode. I just can’t get it to work. Audio works fine on iDrice but the moment I switch to android , it doesn’t work. How can I fix this?

As for Bluetooth my phone connects to both Bmw Oem and headunit simultaneously. You can choose which side you wish to use for calls.

I don't use Waze but Google or in my case Copilot GPS Navigation directions can still be heard by the extra speaker supplied in the new type wiring loom when listening to Oem radio.

In my opinion it is a far better system and worth the upgrade, so far everything works as it should including steering wheel controls and OEM control knob.

By installing all the cables you skipped...

Installation is pretty easy: you connect the quadlock cable, APIX video cable, all the antennae you're plannig to use, AUX cable (pretty important if you want to have any audio) and USB cables for any data transfers and updates.
