By the way... ECS tuning has the front and the rear right Gold calipers on special. About $1100 below MSRP for those 3 calipers.

I ordered all 4 calipers to do the same experiment...
I think that the rear 4-pot calipers will work with the OEM steel rotors in the rear (370mm x 24mm vs 380mm x 28mm) depending on the pads. Could be possible that a custom bracket may have to be fabricated, but this is the easier caliper to test fit. Fronts 6-pot calipers need a 400mm x 38mm rotor to match the OEM bracket and pads. The standard 380mm x 30mm rotor have both dimensions too far from the minimum specs for the OEM bracket and the pads. So the question is if the F10 M5 front rotors (400mm x 36mm) are the solution for this swap. Last edited by Technic; 09-07-2015 at 08:09 PM.. |

The F10 M5 front rotor diameter and thickness measurements seems to be a match for the 6-pot calipers, but any other spec (hat offset, hub diameter, mounting screw position) is not known. |

It seems that I ordered the last front set and one right rear caliper on sale. The left rear caliper was not on sale (for whatever reason) but still cheaper than going to the dealer and the other online OEM parts website.

hat off set is the same, hub diameter 72.56, mounting screw positions are always workable... but always the same its has never change as our rotors can work on e9xs btw the F8x rotors are a direct bolt to e9xs

I dont think was talking about the performance aspect of the brakes but more towards the look of the 6 piston vs the 4 piston standard in our cars...

So this is what you think, not that you have done it or have seen it done?

But if you want to really make sure get someone with an m4 with ccb and m5 and swap the rotor to the m4 ccb and test done. I would of done this already but I am very busy with my company right now and I don't have the time to get it going.. Will do it in the near future for sure |

For purely cosmetic reasons I was considering painting my stock calipers this color ! Obviously no upgrade in bulk or performance but the color would look sharp against Mineral Grey - sorry, bit off topic!
