M135i was built to compete with S3 and Golf R.
A45 AMG will be followed by RS3 and M2 and I bet that it will come on the last place. I'm curious about 125i with Performance Pack vs the GTI with that Comp Pack... |

This guy is a joke, realy.....I don't undestand anything from his camparison, he is very anoying with all the words for A45 and is not even true.
This is not the first time when he put in the bad light the BMW, he put all 3 cars on a mountain and speak about them.....WTF is that comparison for????? We need to know on the track and 1/4 mile who is winning...not.... THAT.....LOL |

That A45 is super impressive, I've been out in one. I never thought a strip of straight 50 roads would have provided so much fun, but it was. The poke that thing has in a straight line is like nothing i've ever been in, certainly hatchback wise.
I love the M135i but its not a real match for that AMG. I'm still confident the 6 cylinder would nail the Mercs 4 in a very very long drag. But out in the real world with corners and junctions and B roads etc the BMW falls short without the diff, traction and real sports style springs that the AMG does have. |

I don't like Sutcliffe's reviews in general, I much prefer Carlos Lago and Csaba Csere

BMW really does need to sort out their new electronic power steering or they're going to continue to get hammered in reviews. Having said that, I cannot believe the reviewer didn't address the #1 question everyone (I know) has about the new M133 engine: what's the turbo lag like?
If you check the Autocar written review, things don't sound too good: Quote:

BMW M135 for me is the choice, even tho A45 seems more appealing to me. Just because it has RWD. it wasnt mentioned there. Other than that, Chris Harris opinion on the subject seem more crucial to me, as you all may remember, he said, the BMWs steering was great in last vid he tested it. RWD Is all different story and complete different behaviour on the road. Different kind of emotions. A car isnt just about 0-100 time. Its something more than simple numbers.

They should have had an E46 M3 CSL as a reference car. |

Mercedes has been really stepping up their game lately~ But for a fair comparison, aside from them being "hot hatches" I thought I remember reading a statement from Mercedes Benz that they are gearing that A45/CLA45 towards the 1M/M2 segment? Wouldn't that be a much fairer comparison since it would be Mercedes's entry level AMG VS. BMW's entry level M? I think I'm going have to wait for the comparison between the CLA45 Vs. 1M/M2 before making a judgement~ What raffoul232 said, mk7r vs rs3 vs a45 vs m2 would definitely be proper! |

Those are 2 MAJOR systems in a car related to enthusiast driving and the cars capability. Great engine, but we've known that about the N55 since it came out a few years back. I'm really looking forward to the new 2 series for the US market. And I am hoping they fixed the poor suspension tuning of the E82 135i that I had. But, the review here doesn't bode well for BMW having corrected it, and the steering is now lack luster, where it was just fine and very BMW like in my E82 135i. The GTI has always been a great little car, and this reviews says that the new GTI is more buttoned down and better suspension and steering than the M135i. The only issue with the GTI is that it's lower powered. Interior looks very nice in all 3, but of the 3 the BMW is the most lacking and bland. I don't like the AMG sedan that's coming to the US, but I do like this hatchback, much more so than the 1 series hatch. I've always like the GTI's styling. Some say the AMG shouldn't be compared to the M135i but more to the 1M. I can see that argument. I'd like to see a new shootout with the BM AMG, BMW M2, and new VW Golf-R, when it's available. The most surprising car here is the GTI as it's way down on power yet still manages to keep up in terms of handling, ride, and appearance. For a lot less Let's hope the 2 series gets the tuning right, as it will get an electronic steering assist, and it's not so great in my 335i Msport. |

LMAO.
On a separate note..... The fanboys and their excuses are funny. Maybe BMW should stop throwing ///M's on non-///M cars so the brand and image can stop being tarnished and watered down and destroyed by AMG. Mercedes takes their AMG brand and offers an even more stunning and exclusive option with the "Black series". BMW takes their ///M brand and waters it down and cheapens it so every BMW made has an ///M steering wheel and shift knob that they can charge fanboys thousands for their "M-sport" edition. Sad really. |
