That's not entirely true! I have both lenses for more than 40 years. Some Nikon lenses are better than the Canon version and vice versa. As far as video goes, they are very similar.

There's a reason why most Nikon guys switch to Canon. L lenses are faster (not that type of fast) than Nikon. Period. 1.2 is a beautiful thing.

Wow, Canon vs Nikon on an E92 forum. Never used Nikon but love the red ring glass for the Canons. Measly 6D owner here.

This thread is a trainwreck.

OP, M3's looking good and I like everyone who looks after their cars. We share the same obsession. +1

Don't get me wrong, Nikon is great...and in the end, it doesn't really matter (omg...Linkin Park reference).

But, the lens range for Canon is more extensive with both focal lengths and apertures (on the L side of things).

I only shoot prime Ls...so, maybe I'm biased.

However, Nikon's flash control makes me envious.

Hello everyone, long time no update on this thread. Not sure if I should create a new one or just keep going with this one. I have learned a LOT more about cars since the start of this thread, mainly due to stalking on this forum or talking to people over IG. I have made closer friends with several people on this forum that I hope to meet in person at car events! Once mid terms are over I plan on visiting cars and coffee in Alisio Viejo.

Anyways, we have decided to turn my M3 into a sort of project car, so I may actually have some noteworthy updates in the near future. In the meantime I have purchased a few mods and would appreciate some advice on other mods as well.

Suspension questions: the main difference I have felt between the M3 and 911 is how tight everything feels in the 911. I know I cannot have my M3 feel like a 911, but what should I get to have everything feel tighter (not necessarily stiffer and more uncomfortable) and feel sharper? Would KW coil overs help do this? Or can I get away with getting a sleeve kit? Has anyone driven both setups and comment how it changes steering feel and tightness of the whole car in general?

Racing seats: this is the mod I'm probably most excited about! I have been taking a look at a lot of seats and its come down to Recaro's or Status Racing. I'm leaning toward the Status Racing because its more in my budget, look more sporty and come standard with carbon fiber backs, but Recaro's have way more reviews. I have not seen anyone with Status Spa seats in an M3 - is there a reason why? Anyone have any experience with these seats? I cannot find too many reviews for the Spa (reclinable ones) online. I also know that I can get the STATUS logo in pink for very little extra, I'm not sure about the upcharge on the Recaro ones to get the logo in pink - insight to this would be appreciated.

Updates:
BMW featured me on their FB page! But they didn't really use the material I gave them for the story, they kind of made it up themselves...
Here is the link to the story:
https://www.facebook.com/BMW/photos/...667269/?type=3
There was quite a few haters in the comments but that's FB for you...
If you guy's are interested in hearing my story let me know and I can post it!

I also installed an Agency Power exhaust and am very happy with it - swapped out my M performance exhaust that I plan on selling once I polish it. I also got a VRTune but have yet to install it due to needing to borrow a PC laptop.

Pics courtesy of my hubby.

Here are some more pics just for fun:

I hope to contribute more to this forum going into the future and regularly post pics of my car as I start piling on the mods!!! Thanks for reading

We have the same exhaust! I follow your IG...definitely looking forward to seeing what racing seats you go with. I'm looking to do a racing seat mod myself, so I can't wait to see your review.

Great stuff.

There should be a way to index this thread to actual info and BS. 26 pages? I jumped to a middle page (to see what went on for 26 pages) and it's just babble about whether OP is real, engaged or married. Need cliffs notes haha

Anywho, welcome back Manda Mew I think there are a lot of opinions, but a lot of info here.

As for the seats, what are you looking for? Besides pink.

Suspension for windy roads or track?

I should probably read the thread to see what the car is for (track or daily now) but too lazy to skim the BS haha.

Seriously! I'll edit the first post to tell everyone to skip to here.. I would want the suspension mainly for the road with about a couple track days a year. I'm going to start taking lessons soon! The seats have to be micro suede or alcantata, look cool and be comfortable. Also it should fit my skinny frame
