You clearly only read a handful of the posts in this thread. Plenty of great options/suggestions.

TireRack currently has Mail-In-Rebate promotions for Bridgestone, Michelin, and Continetal. You could get S-04's for under $700, or DW for under $600 in stock sizes. That's pretty unbeatable. Great value on both.

The UTQG is higher on the Conti DW than the PSS. So how are the PSS lasting longer?

The ratings are in relation to other tires from the same maker and don't work for comparison between makers. Pss is a warranted 30k tire. I've had both and the Pss lasts 50% longer.

Dunlop Direzza Dz102. They were satisfactory, not too noisy and decent traction

Probably would fit the OP criteria

I run Nankang Noble Sport's on my 335 X-drive. I love them. Road noise is a little more than my previous PSS's, but the tire looks, feels, and smells like a Michelin

Total cost shipped to my door for (4) 235/40/18's was $315.00

No respect here so far. They are the cheapie tire with the soft sidewalls for stretching mostly.

I know my 235/40/18 NS2's are far from a soft sidewall. They are standard 6-ply sidewalls.

What circuit or track have you ran them on, and what was your difference in lap times between the tire of your choice?

I haven't. Just heard from many posters they're cheap tires that stretch well for stancing. I don't see anyone praising their handling, etc.

Everything I have ever read about them is how stiff they are.. Taking automotive performance advice from someone that "stances" is like taking tire performance opinions from someone that has never ran the tire

I'd also make sure we're talking g about the same tire, a tire with a 120utqg is Deff not the tire of choice for someone that runs 97 degrees of negative camber lol

I read up on them. Less sticky than pss, very noisy, harsh riding, bad construction (fall apart and bulge easily), bad wet driving manners. Drifters like them because they're easy to break loose and disposable.

I know your trying your damndest to not give up on your initial thoughts but without link it's that worthless..
You find me a link where somone with track time states that the ns-2r has less grip than pss and I'll be kinda surprised for damn sure!

Here's one from England. Nanking isn't mass market here.

Honestly I couldn't care less. But I'm just saying everything I hear about them sucks. I asked for a link showing them beating the PSS from a reputable source, not a kid who stuck them on his Evo. I can't find one that rates them higher than PSS. I do see harsh ride, bad wear, prone to bulging and shreading due to manufacturer defects, bad in the wet, noisy, but not many good ones. Vs the PSS they only win on progressive Ness whatever that is. Guess they're the tyre of choice for Obama.

Even if that's you source to give me that dosnt look to bad for 106 dollars a tire shipped dude!
And you would never put this against a pss they are two totally different kinds of tire...

I'm not trying g to be nasty when I say this but I just don't think you get it.. I think your too focused on your argument and opinion to look at the original question as well as request from the OP

This is a budget tire! 100 dollars bub...

OK. I don't see why you'd put a budget tire on these cars. These cars aren't cheap and will uncover a tire's flaws pretty easily. There's other budget tires that won't shred for the same price but even pss is only double the price and will last twice as long. 30k warranty. Why buy 2 crappy tires instead of one good one. My argument is price per mile, not absolute price.

I got a set of 4 NS2's for $315.00 shipped to my door. For that price, on a daily commuter, with some light spirited flogs here and there, the tires will do their job just fine.
Here's a review of them from someone such as similar BMW type car owners, that wanted to give them on a shot on his Audi.

I'm happy I didn't buy your setup, seeing how you bought used tires and tried to tell me "how expensive" the they were.
