supraking is kind of an old username, from back when I was younger (same on **************.com). Would like to change it on 1addicts but don't think I can, so 100PROOF will be the new name from here going forward (my company name).

Wasn't aware there was an event at ASE on the 16th... who's running it?

Has anyone been to the BMWCC driving schools? Do they actually teach you anything? I attended a short ASE school/lapping event and they didn't teach anything really. Thankfully, most people (myself included) had already educated themselves on proper techniques, but several others were a bit lost. Very little discussion of over/understeer, shifting/braking technique, proper passing, traction control systems, etc. In the end a few people ended up in the grass, and a friend almost put his 325 into a barrier sideways. I considered these events a consequence of poor instruction rather than reckless driving, so hopefully the BMWCC instructors are up to the task and focus a little more on the fundamentals. Anyone have experiences they'd like to share from past events?

BMW CCA and BMW CC events are all run the same way. They are HPDE events (High Performance Driving Education) You have classroom sessions (If in Quebec, organized by a Quebec club, the instructor will teach mostly (about 80%) in French). They teach you basics, car dynamics, rules to obey on the track, tricks to go faster, and more. Every car on the track (novice and intermediate) is with an instructor inside. There are no timing devices accepted in the car or outside the car, so that drivers don't try and go faster than what their capacities (car, driver and track) can permit. No passing without proper wave-bys |

Just to clarify my original post... I hadn't attended a BMW CC school, it was an ASE school, I just left out "ASE" in the post. Sorry if that was a bit confusing.
